I have read and seen an impressive array of modification thread owners have made to their 997 over the years. Some are not only improve performance, but are also eye candy as well. I have earned a tremendous respect for the knowledge and input from performance and aesthetic seeking modifications made to the 997.

My topic is going to focus on the lower end of the spending curve.

What I am interested in are your Top 5 Modifications for under $1,000 for the 997. Can be anything from appearance to performance, and only includes the price of the item; not the labor (yours or others) and potential headaches to get installed. But, do feel free to add your commentary as a word to the wise on installation.

You don't get much under a grand that makes a difference, but if you're forcing me to answer here's my list:

Under $1,000:
-OEM SSK
-Gundo Hack mufflers (for sound only)
-EVOMS CAI
-RSS Plenum (I've got one for sale)
-V1 or Blinder Extreme Laser Jammers
-ECU Tune

At or under $1,500:
-AWE 200 cell sport cats

Under $15k:
-VF-E SC (or find a used one for around $6-7k)

Under $1000 for each, up to 08 for some.

Toe hook plate mount (moweraxle or JCS)

Here are some each under $1K:

DE's cost around $300 each so if I was you I would sign for for 3 of them. PCA or Chin is a great place to start.

 

A few suggestions to consider:

1. BMC Drop-in Air Filter (better than EVOMS CAI in my experience at 1/3 the cost)
2. Softronics (or any other flash)
3. Professional Paint Correction (if it has significant rids, esp dark color)
