997.1 Standard Navi Upgrade

is there a way to upgrade the factory navi? its pretty much my only complaint about this car. The navigation system is pretty weak, and offers practically no options. Would it be as easy as swapping out the navigation disc? I honestly have no idea if anything is possible.

Mr. Berlin,

I believe there is a map update available but I don't think it adds any additional features. I'm assuming you are looking for features like 3D view, select routing, POI's, etc? I don't believe there is a PCM 2.0 update for features like those. I agree that the PCM 2.0 can be difficult when it comes to inputing data because it lacks a touch screen interface but if you already have invested the time to do that it should still get you where you want to go, correct?

For whatever this is worth I have a 5 year old Garmin "stick on" unit in my daily driver and I still find it incredibly useful.

hah, yeah ive noticed myself still using the iphone more than the built in navi. my biggest gripe is while the map is on, it shows no other details, clock, playlist, ect all gone.

I actually like the nav functionality of my Garmin 265Wt more than the factory unit in my '09 cab. The garmin gives much sooner turn instructions and gives the names of the streets. My Porsche unit would not give street-by-street instructions when I was in Madison.
