Bilstein PSS10 B16 and Competition Ride Height
Bilstein PSS10 B16 and Competition Ride Height
Anyone taken their suspension setup with Bilsteins to the extreme and gotten down to a more competition ride height? I dont think they were designed for this but I know with some aftermarket bits and things like Cup control arms you can get pretty low. Anyone?
I am beginning to think I should just move on to a JRZ or a Moton setup. I have heard JIC's can go low while maintianing functionality due to their tube design.

I set my pss9's to the same ride height as a gt3, lost the lip on my front spoiler in south boston, never replaced it. I think the real problem is that the geometry of the suspension changes, but can be corrected with the right suspension pieces. I think gmg makes the parts that correct this.
Yeah I am at Euro GT3 height right now but I want to go lower. I am going to go with the GMG peices/Cup pieces and see how that works out before I dive into a race suspension.
I tried aggressive drops with pss10 and found it to be noisier with more spring binding sounds. I came to the conclusion win aggressive drops the springs lose their load which allows more play and resulting in sounds of spring binding
Yeah thats what I am worried about. I will probably go with a set of JIC's which offer a lot including height adjustment via the actual tube vice spring perches that way suspension travel is not compromised and does not effect spring loading. They advertise up to a 3" drop which should be more than enough. Since JIC is not popular in the states prices are very good too!

I really like the Bilsteins but I want to go lower and more aggressive with my suspension both for performance but also looks.

Yeah, LSD is going on for sure as well as a LWFW. Gomez is going to be a hard man to catch now that his car is gutted and weighs well under 3,000lbs.

Hey Jason, nice to see you back!
I had my Bilsteins set to lowest on the front and boy, was it low! I couldn't drive it on the street. All the driveways seemed so steep that I had to get the car raised a little.
Since I had it raised, the suspension seemed a little softer tho...

Yes those are them!
The inovative feature they have is that the lower connection point is what moves up and down instead of adjusting the spring perch. Suspension setups like Moton and JRZ allow for a wide range of height adjustability due to the small size of their actual housing. Effectively JIC's method does the same thing by adjusting the pickup point. They have a great reputation as a street/track coilover. I have not heard one bad thing about them. Custom rated springs can also be ordered so I can so softer or harder depending on my needs.

Jason, if you decide to go that route, I'd have them installed and set at JIC's own shop in Alhambra. I can give you the contact info. I had them adjust my ride height and dial in the tension settings for the helper springs etc. No one knows their coilovers like they do and they have a pretty standard shop rate.
