Front license plates, plugs for them, and cops
Hi there, everyone.
I've just bought my first 911, an 07 C2 CPO.
It came from the dealer with a front license plate (and 2 screw holes on the bumper, I'm told). I'm thinking about getting the little plugs for them, but I wanted to ask people who have done this the following questions:
1. Where should I buy the plugs? I'm in Orange County, CA.
2. I'm told that it is actually illegal to NOT have a front license plate here in California. Has anyone had problems with this? Tickets?
Thank you!

it is illegal and depending on where you live, you will get stopped. I left the temporary registration on my Lotus for 2 years (never had any plates on it let alone the front) and for over a year with my C4S. That is the best way to avoid getting stopped for no front plates IMO
yes,

why would they stop you for a temp registration? There's no way for them to know that it's expired unless they stop you.
Thanks, guys.
I live in OC and also stay in West LA a few times a month.
I hate the way the front plates look but I have no time (or patience) to be dealing with cops and fix-it tickets.
The dealer actually told me that many people keep their temporary registration on for an extended period of time. Lol. That's really
and pretty smart.
Michael, on an unrelated note, I tried to get your input on a different thread about clear bras... Can you tell me where you got yours done? You mentioned it was much cheaper than Premier...

He was sitting behind me at a light and he wanted to check them I guess. He told me he stopped me because I didn't have any tags. Of course, the temp tag is on the front windshield, so he didn't see it. He was just busting ***** as cops love to do.
Not sure what the temp tag looks like in CA but in TX the expiration date is in 3 inch numbers - pretty hard to miss...if they're looking.
Mine was a piece of folded up paper stuck onto the front windshield passenger side lower corner. There is no way to see it unless you are stopped and they make you take it down and read it.
Just curious, so what happened with this ball busting cop? Is it another fix it ticket?
