Is this covered by warranty?

The paint around the AC vent has started to "peel" or "foil" - I'm certain the dealer will tell me this is not covered by warrranty - also, one of my headlights is out - is that covered? thanks

More info needed.
What is the year and mileage? Is it a coupe or cab?
Was this caused by natural use or a result of an event?

The headlight may just be a bulb .
Generally it's a routine wear part but not expensive or hard to replace.

It's a 2007 997S - the paint appears to have just foiled maybe due to heat

Did you have an oil based air freshener near by, it looks like something has dripped on it to cause the finish to peel.

I would take it to the dealer, it shouldn't peel like that.

I've never seen anything like this . If it is caused by heat or a result of cleaning then you may have to pay . You did state in your first post that you were "certain" that a warranty claim would be rejected.

I do feel that the service of both South Florida dealerships are very professional when it comes to fixing things and if they can help you they would.

Posting a picture , expressing doubt as certainty , and leaving the reader to guess will not be the same as going to the dealership, explaining it more, and seeing what they say.

Good luck .

Interested to hear the outcome of this. I have one tiny area of peeling paint on the radio and dealer wasn't sure if they had anything to touch it up. Obviously not as bad as what I see in your pictures, but it does drive me nuts every time I look at it.

When I bought my CPO'd '08 last fall, I noticed the paint was peeling from the front of the PCM by the driver's-side **** (volume control.) The dealer replaced the entire unit (apparently they can't replace just the bezel) under the factory warranty. They agreed to do it prior to me buying the car, so I don't know if that made a difference. It's certainly worth asking.

This sounds like the exact spot where I have the paint peeling. Time to badger the dealer again.

Same problem here. Also on the defroster and A/C-Unit @ 23.000 mls.
Under approved warranty is no coverage My dealership sent a "good will" request to Porsche....

If the dealer doesn't fix it, you can sometimes find this part on Ebay or L.A. Dismantler. If that fails, Suncoast will definitely have it.

Porsche often denotes these problem under wear and tear. Under the factory warranty - no problem, but the CPO is getting a bit harder.
For me it is definitly no wear and tear. Its just low quality....

At the PCM Frame and the A/C Button it is possible for wear and tear, BUT I am sure that nobody touches the A/C-Vents and the Defroster that often to make it peel....

If you buy it on your own, this will be expensive and in the end you get the same crap...

Did they upgrade the PCM when they replaced it, or give you the same version?
