Stock versus pse
Stock versus pse
I had a 2005 997 s cab. The exhaust sound was very weak. I added OSS and WOW!! Amazing sound especially when unplugged
I drive a 2010 s with pdk. WOW. The exhaust sound was amazing. Sounded like my 2005 pse unplugged.
What do you guys think? I don't see a reason to add pse to this car. Are a lot of you adding pse?
Like to hear what everyone thinks. They must have materially changed the exhaust for new pdk cars.
Hopefully I'm buying mine this week and don't see reason to add pse because stock sounded amazing
thanks

My 09 S PDK sounded a little weak compared to my 06S PSE.
Added PSE and love it. The car is quieter inside than the 06 and the PSE has not burned in yet so I expect louder tones in a few more thousand miles.
When I drove my 09 in the fall with windows open, the standard sound was better than my standard 06, but, still lacked the punch of PSE.
Go for it..I needed to turn it on/off for my street.
If you add it put your own switch and skip DME control.

I added PSE to my 09' C2S two weeks ago, and with the FabSpeed Xpipe its excellent! (I'm debating on whether or not to unplug all-the-time to avoid the 25-45mph override from the ECU.......although do like the ability to turn off/on when I'd like)
Even my youtube clip does not do it justice...NOT EVEN CLOSE when driving....especially above 4000rpm.

Yrralis, I admire and regard quite highly your commentaries on this forum, but in this case, I don't quite understand why you and many others often treat the cab as if it's in a separate catergory.
As someone who has significantly modified his Cab, I respect that the 100-200 extra pounds and theoretical added flexibility of the frame may place the cab in a 'lesser' category when it comes to being track-ready. It's just a tad slower and perhaps a bit less accurate in placing the car on the track.
But I suspect that few on this forum have the skills to notice the difference nor are they disadvantaged when challenging a coupe in lap times.
Whew, I feel better now (defending all cab owners worldwide)!
Now, re the OP context, I'm not a fan of PSE (except when it's compared to the stock system). The value of aftermarket systems (the combination of the great sound and substantial weight reduction) makes purchasing an aftermarket PSE a questionable choice. I'd recommend going with one of the popular after-market brands - headers, cats (200 cell) and mufflers (I went with a Fabspeed setup and am very happy with it) instead. And, in a cab, the sound of that new/light plumbing combined with an EVOMS or Fabspeed intake is just incredible.

if i add exhaust it will probably be pse..on my 2005 997 s i added pse, evoms cold air intake and suncoast headers and giac flash
i dynoed many times before and after - absolutely zero gain
i will not do that this time..only exhaust for sound!!
