You might try and touch bases with Carnewal...

I just ordered his PSE Master Switch this afternoon and am having my PSE installed using only that. His solution obfuscates the need to tie anything into PCM (and all that nastiness) and over-rides the "quiet mode" that otherwise occurs between 45 -75 mph.

Really simple plug and play.

Where do you get power for the carnewal switch, if you do not use the standard wiring? Additional internal battery in the unit?
If you need a power wire from up front you can save the $200 and just put in a switch.

The PSE for the 997.2 is different from the 997.1. Why put the switch in the ashtray when it comes ready to install in your car next to the PASM button?

Go on? When installed can you turn it on all the time so it stays on throughout the rpm range?

NO, factory wiring goes through DME! Unless you can wire the switch up the same way as the ashtray switch, which my be possible.
I had considered the factory switch, but, used the same ashtray switch I had in my 06S.

Correct..... Had my 997.2 PSE done at the dealer the other week, and the DME definately has input on the control valves. (And yes, you get a totally new lower switch panel with the PSE upgrade)

I noticed my leftover harness's and one might go to the new dash switch, which I didn't get.
You may be able to use it to direct wire to the solenoid the same way as the ashtray switch, if it can be connected separately, from the other buttons.
This was not possible on my 06 S, ergo:the ashtray switch.

I just got PSE installed on my 997.2 PDK this week at Porsche Exchange (Chicago), I am picking the car up this Saturday. If you want it to be loud, why not just keep it manually unplugged in the engine bay? (The on/off switch on the console won't work if you do that, though, it's apparently easy to plug back in, for instance if you want it quiet again for a long trip)... that's what I plan to do
