2006 997 C2S CPO - $54k...Thoughts?
Well, yeah, if someone were giving these cars away, I don't think anyone would choose a regular Carrera over a Carrera S.
I think it's all about what you're willing to pay for or what you can afford, and what you can live with. The base 911 is definitely an inferior car to the S (and to the turbo, the GT, etc, etc) in terms of performance, but it's still a better car than 95% of the cars on the road and that was good enough for me... And it's still a beautiful car that impresses the chicks (well, maybe not in LA.
). And because everyone's looking for the S car, there are usually really good deals on the base 911, which sits on the lot a little longer.
1) The Porsche incentives for March placed discounts on the new cars and that pushes used car price down . The reasoning is ''why buy a used car when a new one has thse attractive finance programs or lower pricing.
2) There is so much competition for the 50K Porsche 997S that most of the sales in that price range suck all the enthusiasm out of negotiating. The used car sales folks get tired of nickel and dime tire kicking discussions so they will name their price and let you walk .
As for Mobonics car --that's a different type of vehicle . It's customized and with that in mind it offers a specialty . For him as well as the buyer who wants a turn key modified car (withoit having to do all the work) it's really matter of finding each other. Good luck with the sale Mobonic . I know you really loved that car .
Yep, that's the one if it's guards red.
And yeah, they just won't move on the price.
Oh, and I just booked my flight to Houston to see/drive/buy it and THEN double-checked their site and the car is no longer listed! So it may be gone which means it sold sometime in the last 24 hours.
We'll see tomorrow when I call them...
Mobonic - Just PM'd you.

Yup, the red one was the one I was looking at. Interesting that it is now removed from the official Porsche website but it is still listed on the dealers own webpage.
Actually I emailed the sales manager and even though they were closed she emailed me back saying the car is still available...so the trip is still on.
I have to say I'm torn...would also love an 09 C63...I guess we'll see on Friday.

How much is the C63?
I think the price is on target, but the market is shifting. There is a lot of price pressure coming down on the '05s and '06s from the '07s (and to a lesser extent the '09 base car). The amount of '07s for sale right now dwarfs the '06s. The March incentives should increase supply as well. By mid summer I wouldn't be surprised to see clean '06 S cars will go under $50k (where they were briefly last fall).
Good to hear. One thing I found interesting is that the car on the dealers own webpage shows the car wearing the lobster fork wheels. However, on the original posting I saw on the official webpage it shows the car wearing the Sport Design Wheels (much, much better choice in my opinion). I'd ask why the swap in wheels (I've still got a picture of the car wearing the Sport Design saved on my computer).

In November I paid 53k for my car. 06' S in GT Silver / Black. Leather Power seats, Bose, Sports Chrono, 25k miles and CPO. I say it's close enough that if its the car you want grab it. I may have been able to get mine slightly cheaper
but I wasn't looking for the cheapest car I was looking for my car. I'd passed on several prior opportunities and when I found mine I just did it.
