I'm not sure you can speak for 'Porsche fans' or 'widely held opinion' unless there was a comprehensive survey done with owners.

I'd not call it 'defacing', unless you also include making any changes that are not factory built in also defacing (adding/changing wings, bumper covers, aero, exhaust, chips would also be defacing then.. heck, even putting in non-Factory floor mats). Heck, putting the PCA sticker in the window would be defacing. How about 'modifying'?

I'd go with a 911 in chrome with the S in red, I think it would pop nicely. This is why we are all different and doing these mods differently make are cars unique to us. Now if you were going to put a cayman badge on your 911 I'd be like wtf and you'd probably hear alot about defacing. If we all did the same mods life would be boring, it would be like all of us wearing the same clothes, how boring would that be.

agreed! you're going to look like a dork screwing around with the badge. though some like-minded guys will think its cool, you're going to get an equal or greater amount of people roll their eyes. its your choice.

I like white lettering on a white car. Looks clean and classy.

911 S in silver is simple and understated . Black on white has never been my cup of tea because the two colors have such opposing contrast. The red S works but is a little flashy. Tough call.

I am leaving mine alone

Thanks for your opinion but personally I don't give a sh*t what other people think about my "screwing around with the badge".
I was asking for an opinion on what is more esthetically pleasing not what people think about the act of doing it. However, everyone is free to voice an opinion so bring it on !!

Hey Porsche05, only 5 of my carbon fiber diffusers were produced several years ago by a company that is no longer in business. I don't believe any of the other carbon companies make a piece exactly like mine. You can purchase a piece that covers the area between the exhaust tips, just not one that extends all the way around the tips. I have no idea who owns the other 4?

Jay

Honestly, it's not a 911S, it's a Carrera S as Porsche states. Me, I order my Porsches without any badge. Just a trap for leaves, bugs, wax, etc. I don't care what the guy behind me thinks I'm driving

RED 997 is infamous around these parts
Jay Jones your car looks great! I also like the option of having the badge same color as the car (joeshark's photo).
