I put flat black "911" badge on my car, no "S". I think it looks great on the car But to each is own...

Thanks for the input.
IMHO of all useless mods badge alterations is the most useless one.
I could understand if you would remove it completely, but why to change one for another?

I have to disagree with you on that one. We don't change the cosmetics of our cars for the car driving behind you, we change it because of the it makes us feel when we look at the car.

The same reason you change the wheels or change the side mirrors or exhaust tips...because the owner likes the way it looks. That makes horse racing.

Anyway, here's an image since the weather finally cleared up and I swapped out my broken badge for a Satin Black "Carrera" and Gloss Red "S".

another option would be to get, from Suncoast
the letters PORSCHE in silver to hang on the back of your car, that way you keep the guy behind you guessing which model Porsche you are driving....

I ordered the red S from Suncoast along with clear side markers...my first Mods. I wanted to go with the red S to make it "pop" a bit more...it's not a Carrera, it's a Carrera "S". Also, I think the red goes with the taillights and ties in with the brakes as well. Someday I may do red seatbelts and a red fire extinguisher. I think it's just accessorizing, or color matching...same thing you do when you dress, shoes, socks, shirt, etc.

Just a note, but the red S that came from Suncoast came as part of the Cayanne GTS emblem set...where the Cayanne is black and the S is red. The S is also slightly smaller than the S that came stock. So, the "tape off" the old S to gauge where the new one goes does work, but you still have to eyeball it a bit.

Anyway, I really like how mine turned out and I'm glad I did it.

J

I personally went with a flat black "911" badge and haven't looked back.

BTW if anyone's interested I have a spare "Carrera 4S" badge... the "Carrera" is in dark gunmetal... The "4" is in titanium... the "S" is in Red

Bought it from suncoast originally, but it didn't work with my particular colour scheme

actually, Porsche says its a '911'..

this is a info-book from 2007

but i am not a fan of '911S' especially with a accented 'S'

it looks unbalanced and, not sure how to say this nicely, but a little vain, IMO.

nice '911' is simple and most appealing, yet still shows that ur carrera is not 'factory'

its your car, you should do what ever

makes you happy. No one else is paying for your car or helped write the check. I personally like a simple 911. A friend of mine has it on his base white 997 and it looks clean and nice. If I were going to change mine I would do just the same even though mine is an S. Those that know would know its an S anyway and those that dont would not know the difference
