Planet X vs pcars
akim47 quote : "Even with the above, I've been looking for a 997 for about 3 yrs now, and I've waited so long because the best deals have been on non-s cars... and me, I'm holding out for the S. I don't care, I'm not in that much of a rush. Pricing is important for me as I'm not as well to do as some here. So I want to be smart and get the car i want at the price i can afford..."
I got my pcar last summer in a great market and there were +$20k discounts on 2cS cars all over the east coast. I got an even better deal on my c4 (sic: no one important wants a c4, except ME, I'm in the mountains every week). My terms were sub 5k on the clock and below $70k CPO. I had one fish near hooked for a 2cS with >4k miles for $69k but it had more miles then the c4 purchased and I needed (wanted) the awd. The 4cS cost about $5k more; that's reality.
There are still great low mileage S cars or 4s pieces on the market at $25k below sticker (east coast). I just reviewed a '08 white $100k car in Long Island for $77k. If you want a sub $55k Porsche with no issues or miles then you have to . . . . wait 'til hell freezes over. Just market conditions; in mid-2009 Porsche was depressed by over importing, a crash for those able to lay down the buttered bread and the crazy VW takeover.
Sidebar: I can't believe all of the rumblings about Subaru's on this site. It's a car from planet X compared to a pcar. And if i was on planet X then i'd drive one. But i'm not . . .![Embarrassment](https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/images/smilies/redface.gif)
If you wanted a discount pcar you've probably missed the deflated balloon . . .
That said these are not cheap rides. Go to planet X for those.

Not looking for any equipment right now... just a car. Haven't paying attention lately to current pricing, but I'm a fair person. I know that prices have firmed up over the past 6 months...

Love it
I have a C4 Cab my friend has a CS Cab, we ride weekends all the time and on the road its not much you can do to differentiate the cars as far as performance goes. Every thing is relative, having own various 911s for the past 26 years no 997 is slow and not enjoyable. You sound like me and I chose the while I could have gotten an 997 S for what I paid for the C4 I perferred the wider hips and do not plan on tracking so I saw no benefit in getting the S. I love my C4 more so than any other 911, 928, Lambo, BMW, etc. that I have ever own.
