even evolution takes a small step back sometimes..

still it was the first water-cooled engine for 911.

One of the car mags had an update on the next 911 and they stated that a flat 8 in various forms, 5.0, 4.5 and 4.2 I believe would be used. You never know, they might just surprise us all.

did annual today. hit 71K! my service advisor said there is talk of an 8, but like in '13...he said he got that from their intranet or some such. a 4.3L. he is usually spot on, though. showed me a porsche post there on the 918. they are sending out some sort of packet to GT2/3, TT, GT owners to guage interest. looks they were fishing for interest in a car approaching 600-700K. my house is 1/3 that!

REBor8 is infamous around these parts
The car dances harmonically and its rear-biased mass motion is special. Today's car does that well, but let me tell you... the original '64 car did it even better, but of course it was more difficult to drive and it separated the men from the boys. [/quote]

Amen, brother. I couldn't have stated it better. And.....I sure do miss my 356 SC that I sold for tuition in '71.

the packets were prob to gauge interest for the new hybrid spyder.. i understand they have close to 1000 potential buyers for it.

can't see Porsche or other carmakers going with bigger displacement at this time when going 'green' is in..

That's a really old rendering - don't know why it is resurfacing again on the car mags. I saw it several months ago and I think I googled around and found posts over a year old with the same drawing. Can't imagine it will be close if it is like most of those renderings. Like the BMW F10 5 series - the drawings floating about before it was official weren't even close.
