HRE wheel question

I really like the HRE COMP97 wheel in black for my car

Anyone here have them or similar HRE COMP wheel?

looking for thoughts about weight, durability and strength of the wheels.

I have never owned an HRE wheel so I do not know anything about them except I have heard they are one of the best(just things i read here and on another board)

Thoughts or recommendations?

Pricing?

Thanks

Check with Dan at Vivid Racing (sponsor here on the boards to the right). I got mine from him. Very knowledgeable and great to work with. From the time I placed my order with him, I had the wheels on my car in five business days (P40's though, not sure about lead time on Comp's).

You can't go wrong with HRE's. They're a top-line wheel, and are expensive, but you get what you pay for.

I have the Hre C20 on my Turbo and love them . I personally like the brushed finish because it has this texture that appears like its hand made. The C90 series were not made at the time when I bought mine and they are very well made. They are light, strong, and the step lip comes in very handy in the rain .

Plus i love the DISH. This new trend of monoblock everything or convex this or carbon fiber that (in my opinion) is not as appealing as a traditional three piece race mesh wheel.

HRE C97s on my C4S... The wheels are super light, 18.5 lbs front, 21.5 lbs rear and you can definitely feel the reduction of the un-sprung weights.

Damn, those are beautiful wheels. If they're less than five grand a set, it's almost a crime not to install them. Of course, I have a set of Carrera S II's that are almost as gorgeous and I never could remove those.

Anyone know a mod to let me install twelve wheels on the same C2S?

Gary

I am personally running some 597R's on my Cab and I absolutely Love them..

Difference between 3 piece wheels and 1 piece wheels are literally in the description.. One is 3 piece and the other is 3 piece. Apart from the looks I would say a disadvantage of a true 3 piece wheel is the maintenence. Seals go bad over time.

From my knowledge, Comp97's are the newest edition to the HRE comptition line. The C9x are supposedly quite a bit lighter than the identical C2X models. They are an obvious great choice for performance for our 911's.

Pull the trigger. HRE's are always a great decision.
