why not just wait another year and get the 998 for 2012 rather than have an 2011 which will be "old" in 1yr?

That will be true next year also.. Why wait you can always trade for a new one if you like it better. Porsche will always be coming out with a better model or we hope they do.

Congrats on the order. I ordered my Turbo S in Feb wont be here till Oct. The wait is hel[ Enjoy in good Health

I would go with the white/brown combo. I do not think there is enough contrast. If you are not going for contrast....go with black on black. Just my opinion.

Guys and OP I met a 997.2 owner here in Dubai this past weekend and he's got the most amazing spec with Natural Brown leather...

Eggshell white.

I'm telling you the creamy color combined with the interior was just spectacular! He mentioned another Porsche customer saw his car on delivery day and immediately ordered the same color.

Its simply superb. If you are at all interested in white this is a color to investigate. It wasn't paint to sample either...

I need a car now and love the current styling. I always make a point of not buying the 1st model of any new product. I always wait a year or two till the engineering kinks are worked out before diving in. So if there is a new 998 introduced this fall by the time I'm ready for a change it should be matured enough.

I hear what you are saying. The picture above is actually what motivated me to go with the white initially. I actually left the dealer with the white ordered but had a change of heart. I live in a cold climate where the days are short 6 to 8 months of the year. If I lived in Cali or Fla the white would be a no brainer. I also thought, being 30 years old, that the white was a little too feminine for me. I've narrowed it down to the Basalt Black and Dark Blue Metallic. Both these colours are actually pretty similar. The Dark Blue almost looks Black and Basalt Black has a Blue tinge to it. Gotta make a decision tomorrow.

My favorite option is the "911" model designation that changes the "Carrera 4S" written on the back to just "911" - and it's free lol!

Congrats!

Nicely spec'ed, love that interior in a black car. But, the pic above of the white with natural leather is very pretty combo too.

LSD is standard on C4S. PASM is also standard in the car and lowers the car by 10mm. The additional Sport PASM lowers the ride hight by another 10mm. Not sure how the ride feels with the Sport PASM.

I would love to get this but for some reason I can't bring myself to do it. Perhaps if I lived in a warmer climate.

PASM vs SPASM: Pin sharp handling, dampers, anti-roll bars, suspension bushings all similar but spring rates are 9 % stiffer; SPASM drops ride height by an additional 10 mm with the same number of spring coils (4). Sport PASM still soaks up the lumps and bumps and takes edge of sharp shocks just as good as the PASM but feels subtly sharper and turns better and the LSP is a welcome addition. It's a visual bonus but somewhat vulnerable front bumper due to lowered height. You decide is the small advantage in handling and looks is worth the hassle of a vulnerable front bumper. I say go for it.
