Last month there was a program where Porsche was giving incentives. The informal explanation I heard was that the incentive was up to 14K off . If the dealership gave 7K then Porsche woild match it . If the dealership have 8K then Porsche woild only give 6K . The key was that it added up to 14K.
Now mind you this was not a formal explanation but then I saw forum members getting 15K off . The program ended March 31 . YET -- some dealership websites still show the finance rates so my guess is that thse deals are still doable.
Much of the deal you'd get would depend on the region, the type of car, and the inventory. For instance if the dealership has 6 manual cars and only one PDK you can't expect a deal on that one PDK car .
Locally in Florida I notice more Cabs than coupes and some dealerships have more manuals . The PDKs are the hot selling cars. Make sure if you get a PDK to get the sport chrono.
Good luck.

sorry. is the 14K/15K off msrp if i pay in full or is it total savings with let say 5yr finance @ a certain rate? please clarify thnx
exact car i'm looking for

The way it usually goes is that Porsche either does a great finance rate or a better discount .. not both .
Cash deal usually is the best option to negotiate. .
I did not get my info from a dealership . It was expressed by actually several shoppers who bounce ideas of me to hear my opinion much like what you are asking on the thread. I can't vouch for it being totally accurate .. but I am seeing guys getting larger discounts on 2010 cars than in the past.

what is bottom line discount (% off) given the present day market on carreras (aren't sales still down). i'm in no hurry and can wait a few weeks to get best value and use the savings from the deal for MODS

i'm asking for 10% off msrp on cash deal. dealer stuck on 8%. gonna look elsewhere. can i do better than 10% if what you are saying is actually happening on 2010s. other post stated getting 15K off a 2010 C2S cab, that's probably 12% off!

You have nothing to lose by calling a few dealerships and make the offer to match or better his deal.
Hello 997tt -- still have your turbo? Since we last spoke, I went through a '10 GT3 (awesome, awesome car), and am now with an '09 C2S w/ mods of course
I'm VERY happy with the '09.
I think the PDK is incredible, but are you sure that's what you want? I took an extended test drive in the PDK and after some time, I felt that I'd miss the 6spd too much. From the little I know of you, I'm thinking you'll be yearning for the 6spd if you go PDK.

Porsche gave dealers rebates up to $7500 ($7k on 2S) for less than 2 weeks that ended on 3-31-10. Thats how 15% off was accomplished. Most dealers believe that they are short enough on supply that they don't have to discount much more than your seeing right now. Some are only coming off 5%. They are saying most, if not all 2010 cars are here or in transit.
Towards end of month is best time to see if any incentives come back. The only thing going right now is 1.9% for 60 months & you may not get the 8% off with that.
Good luck in your search.
