Finally pics of my 1 week old 07' 911 C4S Cab with Pioneer Avic-Z110BT Lots of Pics!

So after 1 week of ownership in my 07 911 C4S Cab i decided to take some pics and give my impressions.
First of all i'm in love with the Car! It's my first Porsche and i have to say it's an amazing machine...
The drive , the handling, the sound... It's intoxicating.
I picked this up on a lease through a Porsche dealership locally and got the extended Porsche Certified Warranty on it as well.
The car has about 25,000 miles on it and is absolutely mint.
It's Basalt Black on Full Sand beige leather.
Options are Bose Premium sound , Auto Dimming Mirrors,Electric/Memory seats,Sport Chrono Plus Package,Full Leather.

So after reading SocalSteve's thread on the head unit replacement i went ahead and ordered all the parts needed before taking delivery of the car.
I got the Pioneer Avic Z110BT.
As far as the head unit goes it's awesome! There was no way i would live in this car for more then 1 hour with the absolutely horrible PCM.
So i picked up the car and literally drove to the shop to get it installed.
Sound is decent , i wouldn't say amazing but it does the job.
At least now i have a Good Nav with bluetooth and Ipod connectivity.
MSN direct is really cool and is a must if getting this head unit.
I think the double din fascia from Euro Motorspeed is spot on and would recommend it 100%.

Don't want to dump to much money into the car seeing as this is a lease so my planned mods within the next week are :
- 6000k Bulbs
- 35% Tints all around
- Porsche Turbo 997 19" Wheels
- Gundo Hack on the exhaust

Overall it's an outstanding car and i couldn't be happier.
I've had 13 cars in the past 16 years and this is by far my favorite.
My last 3 were : 2010 Audi S5 , 2008 E93 M3 , 2007 E92 335.
All great cars but nothing compared to the porsche.
Here are some pics...

Hi, I know you mentioned that the sound is not the best. Can you confirm that it sounds comparable or better than the stock Bose PCM setup? Thanks.

Honestly i listened to stock PCM for a total of maybe 15 minutes and i would say it's comparable at best.
Again i haven't really spent lots of time listening to the stock set up so i can't really compare much.
I do feel that it sounds better with the Pioneer, but not by much.
But i can definitely confirm that the new head unit is lightyears ahead of the PCM and dare i say even better then my previous system in my 2010 S5 MMI 3G which was pretty awesome.

Looks great! I can't wait to get my avic installed. Is the porsche logo already on the bezel when yo buy it, or did you add that on?

I think PCM on my 2010 is very good. Touch screen, great nav, sat radio, iPhone, bluetooth. I like it a lot

did you replace the speakers? That will help the sound a lot

Thank you very much!
The Porsche logo is a sticker that comes with the bezel. Great little addition that gives a nice touch.

Had a 2010 Cayenne loaner for 2 weeks until my C4S arrived and it had the new 2010 PCM.
Though it's a great improvement over the older generation PCM it's still nowhere near what's available on the market...
I haven't replaced the speakers yet but it's something i'm considering.

2010 PCM doesn't mean it had sat radio, Bluetooth or iPhone. Those are extra. You can always find better with after market products. New speakers will change everything. There is a current thread about how bad the speakers are

The 2010 Cayenne with PCM that i had , had everything... Nav,Bluetooth,Ipod etc.
I'm not comparing it to aftermarket. I was comparing it to the MMI 3G which i had in my 2010 S5 or even Idrive that i had in my 08 M3. Those are way ahead of even the latest generation PCM in the Porsche.
To be honest it's not that bad and would probably live with it if i had a 2010. But the older generation PCM's are just archaic.
As for the speakers i agree that changing them out will probably make a huge difference in sound...

I see, so you didn't have nav, bluetooth & ipod as options originally (I think perhaps ipod was maybe not an option in '07). So your primary goal was to have those 3 options, not necessarily to improve the stereo sound -- is that right?

I think the unit looks excellent in the car -- congrats!
