I did the pdk wheel upgrade on a tiptronic 997.1 with suncoasts help. Your dealer will probably have to do the same programming as was done on mine for the paddle wheel. Shouldnt be more than 15 minutes. Yes the wheel is thicker.

Nice, so basically, you install the pdk steering wheel on the tip car and reflash the car? I am assume this is the same exact steering wheel with upshift on the right and downshift on the left?

Yeah sounds about right. You may want to ask suncoast if you need anything else in addition to the steering wheel itself. I actually needed an extra steering column control unit to get my horn to work.

Wow- $2k++ for the paddle shift wheel.

It's nice, but a bit too pricey.

This wheel is thicker than the stock version, and also made of a premium leather too. For tiptronic cars, the steering wheel, airbag, and steering column control unit need to be replaced. It requires basic programming for the steering column control unit, and any dealer should be able to figure out the install.

Kinda pricey, yes I suppose. But IMO, the nicest steering wheel Porsche has ever produced. Worth every penny!

Well if/when they ever release it without the paddles, ie. for a MT car, I'll be buying one right away.

Why is porsche so reluctant to offering the PDK wheel with true paddle shifters as an option when ordering? It obviously exists in the aftermarket.

I'm looking for an old style PDK wheel. If you are trading up, let me know.
