How much off MSRP on new '10 Carrera S?

I know there is no money currently on the '10's but what would be a fair discount on a 100k car. I was offered 15k off during the endo of March but the car got sold before I got the message.
Thanks in advance.

Best I've seen is 1k over invoice w/ 1.9-No add'l money off if you pay cash or use your financing-Some dealers think they don't have enough cars to get them thru the year & are holding @ 3K off MSRP. Might be wise to be patient for the right preowned CPO 09 & save 20K. If you have to go new, try to wait till month end, when they're tryin to get their #'s.

Agreed 100% to find an 09 to your specifications and save big $. Use that $ for mods, beer, or whatever else you like.

Problem is I really want Black/Black (not hard to find) with SPASM (quite hard to find) with Sport seats if possible. There is a car at a dealer with sticker of 100k which i maybe could get them to 90k on but...........
If I could find an 09 with under 500 miles with these options I would go for it obviously.

Why under 500 miles - that seems odd?

Maybe under 1000. I just can't wrap my mind around getting something with more that that amount of miles. For the increase in price of an 09 (low low miles) versus my own new 2010, I likely would splurge for the '10. Now a 2010 in the low 100's with 2500 miles I would bite on and have no regrets!

I bought a 997 that had 16,500 miles on it and you cannot even tell it from new...and, it was $.50 on the dollar...

Find the right one and save big!

I agree! Find a clean pre-owned and let someone else take the hit for it!

I just co-founded a brewery in Pittsburgh -- I had beer on the brain.

But to stay on topic, everything has a price. If the OP wants a very specific car that he cannot find used...go new. Sucks driving a used car, saving $, but not having what you want -- unless you really, really like beer.

I'll drink to that!

And yeah...It took me months to find the "right" car...and, I am not sure if I could have found it any easier if I had bought new.

These cars are so specific-custom. Each one is a little different, a little unique from the next one. No 2 are optioned the same...makes for interesting researching!

I like the idea of a new car vs the 09 used. March really was the best time. So .. you found the car you like and they have it now. Why don't you do the following :

1) Count the number of 997S cars listed in their inventory . If they have many then that's good for you. If not --then it isn't. Also distinguish the PDK cars from the manual in this process.

2) Evaluate that dealership in terms of its volume . If it's in a high volume region it may be a little harder to get the price break (unless #1 shows lots of 997S cars) .

3) 88.7 could be a starting offer . If they go above 91K forget the car . Consider it their loss .

4) Stop wasting time . You have been posting about buying a car for months and you keep missing oppotunities . The numbers I gave you above are respectable figures . I don't feel you should overpay but I do feel that if you keep dwelling on saving an extra 2 or 3K when the car that you love is right in front of you then this car will be yet another missed chance . By the time you buy the car you won't even want it anymore and maybe that's a good thing . Maybe you really are not ready to drop 100K on a car .. but that's something that you need to come to terms with and BTW ., it;s OK NOT to buy the car . Saving money is always a good thing !!!

yrrANUS-
Really, I appreciate your eloquent synopsis of everyone's buying conundrum. Your posts reflect a good understanding of the buying field.
On the other hand, your financial comments smell of someone with little pecker syndrome. This actually would be my 3rd >98,000 car purchase. Not bad for someone who is only 35 and is very responsible in other aspects of his life. Just because I dont broadcast that my 997.1 turbo is in the garage and my PDK 997.2 is my daily , doesn't mean I dont have the same or more in my garage. It just means I don't care to saber rattle.
As for my hesitancy and waffling over the months it is b/c I track my cars a lot (PBIR, Sebing, Daytona) and I really want a GT3 (prior posts). The problem is with 2 young guys it really is nice to enjoy the P-car experience with them, but at 100k for just a Carrera S, it is really really close to a GT3.
So there it, that's my dilemma.
PS- I would offer 83K to start and walk at 90. I also have to pay to have car shipped from the NE to Florida.
