Can't see the picture(s) and would really like to. Can you repost? I've taken a close look at their stuff after purchasing the REV app for my iPhone. These guys make the IP-based wireless sender that plugs in to the ODBII port.

That is incredible. It basically turns your iPhone or touch into a data logger!

Get a good custom mount and enjoy the hell outta your next track day, my off track time will be as fun as my on track time!!

I've actually just ordered the obd2 transmitter for the iPhone and am curious, can you add on the extra modules after the fact or do you need to buy the upgraded version at point of purchase?

Also, what real time values are you getting from the cars sensors? Based on my experience with the durametric tool, the car has sensors for EVERYTHING. Which are compatible with the rev system?

This is awesome.

Most/some of us with sport chrono spend a lot of time figuring out ideas on what to replace or how to get rid of the fancy stop watch/wart in the middle of the dash.

You found a solution - put a SC in the car....and put something that means something on the dash.

Make sure you keep that puck that you drilled out......you were right about returning it to stock..especially if you ever sell...hahaha

To answer your question: with the PLx DM-200 as the brains of the system (small red extruded aluminim box slightly larger than a deck of playing cards), you attach a 60mm OLED display, which I feed into the Sport CATTMAN pod, LOL. That single gauge, when connected to the PLX DM-200 is capable of reading all OBDII values, as well as up to 32 OTHER values, not measured by OBDII, such as, in my case:
-Boost
-AFR
-EGT
-IC intake temp
-IC outlet temp
-IC coolant pressure
-oil pressure into SC
-oil pressure out of SC
etc.

It's limitless, as I can install and program up to 32 unique sensors and input modules, as well as all the already available OEM OBDII data modules, and read all of it, any way I want, off of my one cycloptic friend in the middle of my dash, facing me.

Whatever data I want to read that is not part of OBDII I can install as separate PLX sensors and modules, and they all "daisy-chain" into the central brain, which is the PLX DM-200. Again, with the DM-200, my OBDII as well as any of the up to 32 daisy-chained sensors and modules are readable from my custom dashboard cyclops.

Since I knew I'd need to install a gauge and 2 controllers to measure the new parameters (AFR and Boost), I figured, well, might as well install a multi-gauge and put it where the OEM Sport Chrono would be- if I had that option, which I don't.

So I ordered the Sport Chrono housing/ shell from my boys at SunCoast, and a 60mm OLED multi-gauge from PLX Devices, along with control units for OBDII, WideBand AFR, and Boost.

Since I didn't already have a dash made for a Sport Chrono unit, installation required a bit of ingenuity.

Here are some pics.

cattman,

this is something i wanted to do for a while on my 997 turbo, I am curious as to where did you tap or intstall the AFR and boost sensors? too bad standard obd does not give you those reading as well

Really though when you think about it, how much is the sport chrono stopwatch. You could just drop that in there and the car is back to a stock-like appearance. I don't see that hole in the dash being as big of a deal as some have made it out to be.

Looks good though. Props on the job.

The AFR sensor is a wideband sensor that goes into a bung we had to drill into the header. The wire from that goes up into the engine bay where it gets connected to a small red aluminum box (size of a deck of cards) tucked into the small cavity behind (or in front of, depending on where you are) the rear tail light on the passenger's side.

For boost, I tapped into the bypass hose at the throttle body, and it gets read by another small red aluminum box tucked next to the first. I will try to take some photos later.

Cattman does this do exactly what a Durametric does? (or the other PLX items) just wondering if this is a more bang for your buck option then getting the durametric. BTW i am referring to the KIWI not really the gauge install etc.

Awesome work!

OP, I stumbled upon your thread since I am looking to install the multi-gauge in a sport chrono pod in my Cayenne Turbo. I e-mailed Suncoast and they wanted over $550 for the pod alone! I found these guys selling a leather covered one for $350

http://exclusiveoption.com/997-987-L...d-997LSSCP.htm

so I went ahead and pulled the trigger. I bought 4 sensor modules: 2 IAT (one just post intercooler and then one after my alky injection), 1 boost, 1 AFR.

That will be a nice setup!
