Question C2 tip change to C2S cabriolet stick?

C2 is my 3rd porsche and I really really hate the slow response on the stupid tiptronic. There is a black 06 CS stick cabriolet with about 8000 miles on it. I am thinking to change to that car. I always always wanted a stick. I am sure PDK is faster but it will never give us the shifting sensation. And I never own a soft top in my life.

02 996 C2 Gemeballa all around
06 Cayman S 19" 3 piece, bilstein, exhaust.
05 997 C2 TechArt all around
These 3 cars are all tip and they are all black on black hot, but a bit too common

The stick cabriolet is also black. with less mileage.

I gotta pay 16k usd to change to that car. Is it worth it??
6speed are super super hard to come by and PDK is definitely faster but remember, you never get to use your left foot again! Beside PDK are way out of budget.

my concerns are:

Will cabriolet makes lots of noise/rattle?
How much weight does cabriolet adds compare with coupes?
Will I feel the lost of ridge in the handling?

I know my current C2 will blow away that cabriolet since I have full kit, wing, pss9, carbon interior, rims, etc. But when I drive it. I feel the tiptronic is very stupid.
I don't know, I live in Taiwan and our traffic and weather is just xxx up to a point. I want the stick just for my own pleasure!! MY PCM shows average speed of 24km/h

What do you guys think? PDK can't afford and with stick 997 stock also in black. I'd wish it in white or yellow. oh well I am in Taiwan

My suggestion: Test drive the cab back to back on the same road vs. your Tip.
If you drive in traffic often, the Tip is easier to deal with.
Fewer mods.

do it - 1 year newer, cab, and an S - all that is worth 16k in my opinion...ive had 3 porsche cabs - very rigid and no rattles (atleast associated with the cab)

the s cab should be quicker than your coupe...i dont care what kind of kit you have sans a turbo or SC....i have personally dynoed exhaust, headers, intake and flash - it showed ZERO hp gains....

It's sounds like a good deal. You are moving up to a cab and an S. Besides you really hate the tip. So it's worth the money.

I am thinking, maybe I should wait and get a turbo. CS cab is nice stick, 30hp, cab, and factory look. I don't think I will be so much happier after the trade in. Maybe I can wait a while and get 997.1 turbo!

There will always be something bigger, better, newer, faster, etc. Don't fall into the trap of saying "maybe I should just get xyz, it's only a little more then this" or you'll soon end up looking at a CGT. I think the upgrade sounds like a good idea. Whether or not it's worth $16k to you, I can't say, as I don't know how much value you place on driving.

If my car was used as a daily driver and I had to deal with Taiwan/Taipei traffic regularly, it would be tough for me to own the stick. However, if that is not an issue for you, than to answer your questions based on my experience with my cab versus my seat time in a few friends coupes:

Will cabriolet makes lots of noise/rattle?
No rattles on my car at all and really not that much more road/wind noise than a coupe.

How much weight does cabriolet adds compare with coupes?
Not sure but I think you could find it on the Porsche website. For the 95% of the driving I do, don't notice any difference.

Will I feel the lost of ridge in the handling?
Nope.

I'd wait, think, wait, think...and then wait. Get it figured out, then get what you want. 16k is a lot of money to just "give something a try".
