Tickets for no front license plate?

for those who have received fines/tickets for not having a front license when required in your state/province....what was the scenario? im not planning to have mine mounted on the front so just wondering what the most common scenarios for getting them are so i can try to avoid it.

i doubt you would get pulled over while driving for that ..right?

Depending on where you live.......if on the West Coast(Canada)....
You WILL get pulled over for that.......
3 times for me(managed to get good officers who didn't ticket me)....then I finally thought,I do not need a 100+ dollar fine.
Believe me it will happen to you often!
Here is my solution to NOT drilling holes in the bumper....

Here in California:

(1) Have a friend who's a cop and can sign it off for you
(2) Pay the fine ~$25 here (You don't have to fix it just pay the fine)

I've had my car a whole year without a front plate and so far no issues. Been pulled over 4 times for other reasons (lol) and yet no mentioning of the front plate missing. I don't care, if a cop ever does I'll just give him sh*t similiar to "my front bumper was just replaced, I have new one on order from Germany getting painted a special color awaiting shipment, in the meantime this old one from my garage is on..." and if he says "I don't care, it's illegal", we'll figure something else out.

Until then, a big middle finger to the law ! In my state, they allow people with the old "green lettering" plates to drive with just the rears, yet anyone with the newer plate MUST put the front on too? What kind of fairness is that? Well, I won't play fair either. Here's to crossing the fingers for many more years of no-front-plate driving !

11 years running without a front plate in Victoria and only one ticket.
I fought it in court and lost. Thanks for the heads up. I will put my Tow hook plate on when I head over to Vancouver. I was recently questioned by the Canadian Customs coming back from PIR in Portland. Once I said I was tracking the car they seemed to back off.(even though I questioned them how come the federal Govt was concerned with a provincial law). The frustrating part is that there are so many more serious issues the cops should be spending their time on

I carry an order from my Porsche dealer showing I have a front license frame coming. If I get pulled over I would show that I have it on order. When I go get it is a different story. If they push it I would get one of those tow hook mounts.

Was street parked in San Francisco when I got my ticket. No other violations when parked. Had it signed off by a cop at the nearest station after temporarily attaching with 3M tape, and it came right off after. No out of pocket expenses.

They are cracking down BIGTIME in Manitoba. $226 Ticket. Even my buddy with his Ford GT got one.

This is what I've seen that looks "OK" if not using the factory holder / location that uses the tow hook location to mount with out drilling holes.
