New to Forum; Wheel Question

Hi Everybody,

I've enjoyed reading the forum for about a week now and finally got around to registering. Lots of great information here.

I just bought a 2009 meteor gray/black 997.1 S and will take delivery of it at the end of the month in LA to start a road trip back to Wisconsin where I live. Needless to say: I'm excited.

I'm sure there are about 10K other posts about wheels elsewhere, but I'm not the most adept at searching, so if somebody could point me in the direction of a thread or threads that deal with lighter than stock wheels, that would be great. Alternatively, if you have any recommendations of wheels that strike a good balance between low weight and durability, please let me know.

I will never track the car -- my other car is a Formula Continental (see my avatar) -- but am just interested in it delivering all the right "sensations" as I drive it over the road.

Thanks.

If it's a 2009 then it is a 997.2

Start at sponsor Wheel Enhancement - http://www.wheelenhancement.com/
They have a lot of good information.

There is a wide range of options and opinions on wheels.

Typo: It's a 2008. It's a 997.1.

Thanks for the tip on Wheel Enhancement.

for the street only you may look at new BBS CH-R wheels
http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Wheel...All&sort=Brand

they are not racing wheels and are on a heavy side but are reasonably priced and look quite nice.

+1 for Wheel Enhancement. Actually, I'll be there this morning to have a nail pulled from one of my tires. BTW, they do more than wheels and tires. I had them perform a four-wheel alignment two weeks ago. First class operation with first class personnel and equipment.
As far as wheels go, they are Porsche experts and are very familiar with every fitment option.

You will want a forged wheel.

BBS, HRE, Champion are among the best looking. Google any of these names and you will find tons of info.

We've got full line of lightweight, forged, 1-piece wheels specifically built for Porsches.

Feel free to let me know if you have any questions. Here's a few of my personal favorite:

The RG-5

The RF67
