Sport Chrono Option - necessary?
I had this option on my 07 and 08 Turbos...both gone...been doing other car things...but have an itch for a C2S or C4S which I've also owned in the past. I see a number of still available 2010 models that do NOT have this option, and wanted to get thoughts on its real utility and necessity, i.e. is this a must have option? Thoughts would be appreciated.

On a 6spd, it will increase the throttle response and the time-lap feature is nice. Of course you can do an ECU tune but this will VOID your warranty. It's worth it in my opinion.

The only way to tell I think would be to drive the two cars back to back, one with one without. There is a large difference in my C2S with the Sport mode on but I have to wonder if a car WITHOUT SC would already have the throttle mapping. Yes mine is 6speed.

Silly question perhaps, my 6 speed manual C4S does not have Sport Chrono package..... So does that mean its less edgy/aggressive than a C4S with the sport chrono package? I do have aftermarket ECU. Thanks!

Throttle mapping without it can be a bit sluggish in my opinion. Priceless for perfect throttle response that makes for ideal downshifts. Don't get it and everyone in the market for a used car will be looking for a car with it. Totally worth it.

OK - maybe this thread is more about the throttle response than the timer.
I like the throttle response much better in Sport-Chrono mode vs without. I have an '06 C2S with manual tranny. It's a big difference, IMHO.

Like others have said... PDK equipped car - I'd get the sport chrono. 6 speed - I'd pass. I have it on my 6 speed and I find the throttle mapping too sensitive for street driving but great for Auto X. All told I've probably really used that feature about 10 times in the 2+ years I've had the car.
