Newbie - PDK Problem

Hi guys!

This is my first time to post here but I have been following the threads here for quite some time now and I find this forum very helpful and fun. I hope a can contribute to this forum in the future....

Anyway, I have a 09 CS PDK which I bought brandnew and presently it has 12,000 km. The car been trouble free until today!!!..... Since I have been traveling alot the past few weeks, I took the car out for the first time after 2 months. Car seemed to work pretty well until late afternoon. I went to my inlaws house, parked the car in the middle of the driveway, about 30 mins later I started the car again and when I tried to shift it to "D" the shifter wouldn't shift and move (can't get it out of "P")!!!

Tried to turn off the engine and turn it on again several times but the problem would continue to exist. A friend told me to try to disconnect the battery for 15 minutes which would allow the system to reset but even that didn't work. In fact after I reconnected the battery, a PSM Failure message started to appear.

Has anyone experienced this problem or has any idea of what might have gone wrong?

Cheers!

Godspeed!

Happened to me after I did not drive the car for weeks too. Took it to the dealer and they racn the code and it is a low voltage issue due to the battery being drained by not driving the car.

Your dealer can clear the code in 5 minutes and you just need to drive the car and everything will be fine.

Does the driveway have an incline? Maybe the cars weight is leaning against the transmission in park, and it wont let you get out of gear. Try to relieve the weight if it is, and then use the parking brake when on an incline so it wont happen again.

This is just a guess...my car is a 6sp manual.
