If you have auto-dimming, be ready to shell out almost a grand for these.

Thanks for the info. Let me ask Suncoast again. It was too expensive when I inquired about it so I passed, but seeing how people in Seattle drive, I might have to get them regardless.

Try Sunset for pricing too (on your side of the country). Also, I didn't get aspheric on passenger side, just convex maybe that's why less expensive. Are these mirrors OEM in Europe (ROW)?

I'll give Sunset a call. The pricing are aspheric for both sides (OEM, Euro-spec). I had them in my M3 and E55 in the past and loved them. I might have to just bite the bullet.

Tilt them all the way away from the door and then use a plastic tool/pry bar to gently insert in the now open area between the mirror and the housing and pop the mirror out from the edges. The auto dimming mirrors will have an electrical attachment that will have to be disconnected. I've done it on two different 997's and never busted anything - just take your time. Someone posted some good pictures 3 or 4 years ago - maybe a search would turn them up. It was from a driving buddy of Atomic80 but I can't remember his name.

I did what the OP said and tilted towards the car and both shattered in my hands.
