Funny, I was looking at this yesterday, I'd be curious to know too. Ask the seller if it will work on a 997

I helped my brother install a similar one, but without the RCA input, on his former 2001 996. We removed the radio and plugged it into its back and then set AUX to on to allow it to input sound from the iPod; it worked wonders and like a charm!

I asked the seller, This was his reply

Hello~

There are many different radios for the porshe we are not sure if this will work for you, you will need to look in the back of the radio to see if there is a place to plug it into, it will not charge the iphone. What we do offer is good prices and a good return policy So we give you the freedom to see if our products will work for you and make you happy. We believe in our products and have tremendous success. We feel that the time it doesn’t work out was worth a try and the happiness of our customers who have success makes it worth it So if you are willing to give it a try then we are too.

Thank you,

I am not sure that a simple plug in will work with the newer PCM technology. If it does, it will not show track information on the screen.

I took some pics of my equipment as I'm trying to sell it, after getting an aftermarket set-up installed. See this link:
http://www.balthasars.com/PCM_NAV_Bose/
for many photos, including the back of the PCM unit and the Amp. Example - look at pic 14. I don't know anything about what was plugged in and what might be an open slot for an additional item, as my gear was professionally removed during the conversion.

Hope the pics help you, though -
Good Luck
Jack

FWIW, my photo seems to show a similar unit to the one pictured in the 2nd photo in the eBay listing. I guess that's a good sign. My PCM unit is from a 2006 C2S
