Sold the Porsche a week ago guys..
Car buying math - I hate it. But most times when you try to get a dealer to use normal math, they don't like it - not enough angles - I reckon they need a tesseract to have it come out looking equitable.

Still, cash flow is usually relevant.

. Also, you can never save money buy spending money IMO.I have a buddy that was in a similar situation. He had a 997S cab for the garage and a Cayenne for a DD. To downsize he traded the 997S cab for a Boxster S and the Cayenne for a Subaru Tribeka (sp.?). Of course, payments start over, the new cars depreciate once driven off the lot, equity is gone, and he's left with assets in a "lower" category. He has visions of going back to a 997 of some variant someday. But he is spending less money each month, that is true.

Great car. I went back forth between the 997 and the M3 for about a year before a deal too good to be true fell in my lap. There are definitely days that I would prefer the M3 but there is just something about the mechanical nature of the 997 that the M just can't replicate.
dave, let us know which board you will be on with the M3!
Roadfly was getting a little crazy/silly in the E46 M3 forum section right before I got the 911. Seemed that a lot of the guys were moving on and the maturity level dropped!
Anyway, I would love to hear your experiences with the comp package. I might be going the same way soon...I need a trunk!

Its your pocket and your money. No one is going to be there for your monthly payments except for you. I have had many BMW's and they are excellent cars, especially for the sport drivers. Congratulations!
Congrats, she's gorgeous. I considered a new '10 M3 when I decided it was time to get serious about buying my first P-car (last month). M3s are spectacular machines, and they run like the wind, but it seems like everywhere I look there's a 3-series BMW - not so with a Porsche.
You have a great machine.. she's #2 on my hit parade.. enjoy.

I thought so too after receiving a PM saying i was the first to respond and asking for my address for shipping cost and haven't received any responses back to my PM's & the VM i left........
but i'm used to to being ignored.....i'm married
Great looking car - the new competition package is a great deal for tweaked suspension/wheels combo from the factory. If I could only have 1 car, the M3 may be it, so good choice!
Keep us posted on the impressions of the car moving forward!
