BMW, MB, Audi, Porsche, Lexus, Ford; it doesn't really matter the brand). Unfortunately, I'm usually the guy it gets taken out on, because I work for the insurance company. I'm just trying to screw you and make you settle for a sub-standard repair so I can save money, right? Wrong, I want you in and out of my life as fast as possible, that means the right repair, the first time.

BTW, if suddenly realize you can't stand to look at the car anymore, I'll take it off your hands for you

I think the insurance guys tend to like me because if it were up to me I would never paint a panel and ding repair cost less than the deductible.
I have no idea what it will cost but my goal is to get the job well done at an affordable cost where the repair folks, and the insurance, myself and most important --the car --get the most favorable outcome.

Quick update -
My dent guy complely removed the dent on the clear lens .
The door will have to be painted .
I took before and after pics but have no time to post yet --on way to the shop now.
So far the cost is 100 bucks .
The door will be separate .

I feel a lot beter that one panel was complerely saved .
Now it's just a door dent/scratch and that's still not a happy thing .. but it is what it is.

Larry,
Sorry to hear about the dent. As with all, glad you and the GF are okay. I always have had a hard time considering the car the same after a reapair. It is however, amazing what the dent guys can do. Good Luck with the paint.

After shots of the repaired panel

The cost so far --100 bucks. The side marker lens is still cracked and will be replaced. Not even a spec of touch up paint was used. Just expert dent repair.

is the car white or silver?

looks like the small dent came out great. PDR guys can do some serious wonders. We had an Astin Martin come into the PDR side of the shop I used to work in. A gate at a parking garage came down on the top of the car, it had a crease across the roof about 24 inches long and a few inches across. After about 8 hours of work, they had the roof back to 95%, just leaving about an hour worth of body work and a small spot of paint to do. The owner said that if it wasn't for the paint being broken, he would have been happy to take it with how it came out.

The car is white . This looks like it will barely exceed the deductible . The door will be the only part with paint instead of two panels .

Dent specialists save a lot of expense and retain a lot of value to the car --good ones are very hard to find . This guy is so good that he can even fix a botched dent repair.

Good to hear that the repairs are minimal. Are you suggesting that a small dent/damage like this will effect the value?

If it shows up on a carfax (it won't since no police report) or if he discloses it to a private buyer the value will drop.

(But Larry's a very good negotiator so he will keep that from happening.)

His dealer would probable not lower the value since he is good friends with them.

A $300 body work bill will lower the value of a car, wow there are some picky people out there.
