I got nailed by flying debris
With a good shop, this will turn out perfectly. Once fixed, you will never know it was there. Any reasonable buyer would not be put off by this type of cosmetic problem, provided it was well repaired, which it sounds like it certainly will be. It is annoying and frustrating to have this sort of damage happen through someone else's carelessness, but it will soon be in the rear view mirror.
Update --
The insurance company went directly to the shop of my choice and paid them on the spot . all i owe is the deductible and i shouild get the car back very soon.
I will further update once completed.

This is the worst of it . The drivers door got hit hard . Here's two different angles of the dent . It has a small scratch and behind it is the large scratch . I even considered the idea of a dent specialist and touch up paint with a pro detail but I am going to get multiple opinions and make the choice.

but your car must have factory paint
best of luck hope you can fix it
Larry, I know the "It's not going to be the same" feel. I also felt the same way after the parking lot accident on my 997.2 recently. Passage of time will heal most of this sick feeling. Hopefully the body shop does a perfect job.
