The rest of the thread appears to be addressing 997.1 ***** (I did the same replacement). The 997.2 PCM is quite different so the same solution may not apply and the ***** are different. I also didn't think that the 997.2 ***** had the same problem.

No they don't. There seems to be a round metal in the center that prevents the **** to be pulled out.

Help!

After removing the covers there's a round metal in the middle that prevents me from pulling it out.

Not sure if the dirts / condition on the .2 is the same as those that I had on my .1, but if so, it should still be possible to clean with alcohol without having to remove the *****.

Thanks Serg124! Finally got to remove the *****. i used a #6 torn screwdriver for the bolt. I would recommend for 997.2 models to remove the ***** first and try to clean it with soap and water. I removed the sticky film and it came of like new. No need to replace them as they don't degrade like the ones on 997.1.

Smile *****

of course they should be hard and non sticky; the radio controls are a snap to replace, the climate controls just the opposite. You can try the "alcohol" treatment mentioned above, or many dealers now offer a 'clean up' which icludes repainting the little white lines if you wish ( by an outside vendor ) for $100 bucks - takes about 1/2 hour.
