Went to the Drag Strip Last Night
Well, I finally decided since it was the last night of Drag and Brag, I would take the 997 and she what we could do.
Below is my best times....
R/T 0531
60' 2.299
330 .001 (have no clue what this is)
1/8 8.99
MPH 84.33
1000 11.522
1/4 13.65
MPH 105.81
With a little practice coming off the line, I think the times would improve drastically...
My car has NO engine mods whatsoever.....
Anyone else care to share their times?

To be very honnest I was really going with the feel at launch, If I remember correctly the RPM would be between 3 and 4 before I'd drop the clutch and obviously shift as fast as I can between gears. The worst time I did that day before really pushing it at launch was 13.1 ... The only problem is that I feel so bad after doing quarter mile with this car .. You need to achieve some good balanced wheelspin at launch thats for sure.

Those are fairly decent times for your first trip to the strip.
With some practice you could see low 12's, high 11's. It is ALL about the launch. You may not want to abuse the car too much, but this can be practiced on a closed road, somewhat. Obviously you're going to hook better on a well prepped drag strip, but you could spend a few minutes learning which RPM to engage the clutch for free.
I'm glad you are enjoying your cars.

Sorry... I thought he had a Turbo.
I didn't notice anywhere where it stated the car that was driven. I saw the pic in the avatar/sig, and it looked like a Turbo... I can't tell them apart (sorry, I assumed). What is the difference from the C2 and the Turbo from the exterior?

What does you GTR run. I saw one last year The guy brought it from the dealer right to the track an was running 11.60's
I kind'a thought something was off. If it is a manual - this opens up a huuuuuge deviation in times. I've seen the same driver in a Z06 range between 11.8 to 13.5 in the 1/4 between 4 different runs.
The GT-R runs about 11.5 - 11.7 stock. Mine gets 10.9 (tune and Y-pipe). The wife's first ever 1/4 mile run (first time over 120mph in a car) - she beat a Mercedes SL65 Biturbo V12 on e/t streets with a 11.4 (mild tune).
Thanks for clearing that up.
