997.2 C4S Check engine light 6M old new car

Coming back from an outing and out of the blue comes on my Check Engine Light - Oil pressure, temperature, oil level, engine temperature all seems normal... only drove just over 10,000 kms (Not miles).

Anything to look for?

I've stopped the car and waiting for a tow truck. I do get a courtesy car.

It's a 997.2 C4S 2009 Nov - Please help!!!.

Have you added fuel lately?

With a bit of luck possibly could be a gas cap that was cross threaded on and NOT sealing tight!
Undo it and tighten it back on......

Fuel was the first question the Porsche service people asked. ... I did refuel the night before...

The cap??? Hmm. Really?

In the Information system on the instrument cluster you can navigate the settings and select something that will tell you about system information or warning messages. Does it say anything that is descriptive?

What was the actual "check engine light" that you saw on the instrument cluster? Please describe what it looked like...

No nuttin descriptive I'm afraid... Just the yellow engine light with a red exclamation. The comp said nothing but to go to the device center as usual.

Most of the time it will be something minor. Relax and let's us know the results. Porsche will not let you down.

Warranty all tight... I even get a courtesy car from Porsche so $$-wise all fine. I'm worried what if it's a DFI thing...

BTW, they sent me the latest Audi A6 3.0T and it sucks big time... there's no feel, there's no control, there's no nothing... interior is badly designed - not at all ergonomic, sunroof dial is outright confusing, every one seems to cut in in front of me, no one looks at me, trunk only fills in 3 golf bags and barely (If I'm getting a sedan, it'll be for golf anyways...) wheels look small and pitiful, air-conditioning controls are everywhere and its all plastic padding inside... The drive is scary - each time I change lanes, the car rolls from side to side. Brakes are not progressive and feels like they'll let go every time, steering wheel looks ok (smaller than your usual sedan).

It really got me thinking how good or bad the R8 is compared to our Porsches...

The mercedes benz S series was a beautiful car in all aspects. The Audi just sucked!.

Porsche center checked the cap but was on tight and right. They don't have anything definitive - but I reckon it's the MAF or O2 sensor - Let's wait and see.

Faulty O2 sensor

Yep - It turned out to be a faulty O2 sensor after all.

Thanks everyone for your reassurances!.

Cheers.
