Question pdk? stick? tt? help me!!

Hey folks,

I have a 05 C2 tip. This car is fine except the tip tranny. I really just dislike it. The full leather + alcantara roof is very nice imo.

I am thinking to trade in for these beauties:

06 CAYMAN S,stick, fully loaded except PCM and Sport seats. 24096miles LA
07 TT yellow, stick, fully loaded except PCCB and Sport seats. 9444miles NY
09 C2S Cab PDK, white, fully loaded with two tone red interior 1865miles local car
10 C2S PDK, with average options ( no alcantara roof, no full leather ) NEW*
10 TT PDK, yellow, with average options NEW*

I test drove the Cayman yesterday and I loved the 6speed and the MR handling. lack of power, I owned one before but it was a tip. $59k

TT looks very sharp with good options, the power is brutal, It's OMFG fast. too fast for me. don't think i will able to drive that fast in Taiwan $140k

C2S cab, looks very stunning with and I never owned a cab in my life. $168k

10 C2S PDK, brand new local car with good deal now but not many good color to choose from or options. $187k

10 TT PDK, very nice indeed but also very pricey. $281k

I don't know what I should do. I am all over the place. I always wanted a stick but I am in Taiwan and traffic is SUPER bad. I never drove the PDK in my life. But I could imagine it with a super fast shifting gearbox that I had on my VW R32. It's definitely very very compromise car for Taiwan but I still don't get to throw gears and left foot on the rest area. The sticks I mentioned above are all from US and no warranty left. I can get the C2S with a good finical deal and it is a brand new car. But the options cannot be picked. I really consider the 07 TT since it's stick and it's a turbo. The deprecation already occurred and the color and options are not bad at all. PDK turbo is too $$$$ but indeed super nice. Should I buy an extra cayman s stick??? I dunno

you confuse a lot of people here indeed having in same list $59K car and a $281K car.
if your budget allows to spend $280K - spend it andd enjoy the result, what more to ask here for?

Are your prices in TWD? If they are USD, something is wrong.

You clearly need to decide what you want a bit at least.

As far as the PDK goes, everyone likes it. Even hard core shifters say the PDK is great, they still love stick but it is hard to knock at this point. F-cars are no longer being designed with gated shifters, they will all be double clutch from here on out. So its not like this is a fad that is going away.

PDK C2S would fit your bill best. More than enough power. Turbo, while better, is overkill

I agree with some of the other comments. You need to spend some time to decide what model suits you best, what options and colors are important, etc. We can't do that for you.

I went C2s PDK

and love it. If those prices are in USD, I'm glad I live here because I would not be driving a porsche there because I could not afford too

Didn't even realize the alcantara roof-liner was an option - must be for other non-US markets. Those prices are all over the map - literally.

Having spent over 3 hours in stop-n-go traffic last weekend, I wished I was in a PDK for the first time since I got the car. Thankfully that is not a common occurrence for me. I can only imagine what traffic in Taiwan is like. You need to test drive a PDK and see how it feels for you, then go from there.

For that kind of money you could buy it in the states and have it imported and still spend 60K less...LOL

JohnAMG is infamous around these parts
Take it from one Taiwanese to another, get the PDK equipped car. PDK's normal-auto mode is perfect for traffic congestion; I use it frequently when I visit Toronto and their traffic can get brutal, especially on 401 and DVP.
