Well, this thread is old now, but I just purchased my second car to go with my C2S pdk. I bought it earlier than I expected to do so (instead of october or november), prior to winter here in Michigan
I was convinced that I wanted a Jeep, thinking they look cool...but after driving the Liberty and new Grand Cherokee, and other makes too, I realized that the whole SUV/sitting high thing was definitely not for me.

So my criteria became: as INEXPENSIVE small sedan, a car not to worry about and can park anywhere, somewhat fun, AWD, and safe. We have no kids.
I decided that I just didn't want to go cheap German anymore, now that I own a P-car...so I ruled out the 328xi (hate the looks anyway), A4, and C300. Too fussy anyway...

My decision, I thought, then became easy, and came down to a new 2010 Ford Fusion Sport AWD, new Subaru Impreza, or Subaru Legacy. So I drove them all, and was, unfortunately, underwhelmed by all of them. Something generic about them in their current models, both in design and feel, etc.
But then I test drove a used CPO 2008 Subaru Legacy Limited (PREVIOUS model, with a totally superior sportier drive, transmission, feel, looks, and interior than the monstrous 2010 model re-design) and BINGO, that was it.... I found my car. A unique and actually fun tight little inexpensive safe AWD car.

2008 Subaru Legacy Limited, 22K miles, loaded, leather, premium stereo, rear spoiler, etc, perfect condition
(with premium --bumper-to-bumper-- 6 yr/100K Subaru extended warranty
-- $20K total)

So I'm done for now. Now I have two boxer-engine cars! No new car for like 5 yrs at least, I hope

As I got a nail in my miata tire that day, and low and behold the gods smiled on me and it rained. I did great and really like the car as well. Have fun with it

I am wondering what your (or your significant other's) other car is. I would give a lot of weight on your input as fellow Porsche/911 owners.

Thanks!
We have a 2008 Toyota Camry Hybrid. It's the best family car I've ever owned by far. 44,000 miles and and average of 35.1 for the entire life of the car with only two 2,000 miles trips. It doubled my Infinity G35's mileage and is much quiter. Also has a better navigation (although not quite as good as Honda's). I think 0-60 is like 7.5 seconds so their is good pep for getting on the freeways. Zero maintenance issues (other than the questionable floormat issues). Very Very smooth and quiet (except in max performance cases). The motor eliminates most of the vibrations and acceleration noise. It fits 3 in the back and has a pass through for long items.

Me - DD is 2007 Mazdaspeed3 w/cold air intake. Quite a bit of pep at about 290hp, but hold on to the steering wheel as it is front wheel drive. Mileage pretty decent at around 27mpg mainly highway, and has 4 doors for carrying extra folks. The only thing I don't like is these 4 bangers with turbo need a bit of rev to get going in 1st and 1st is way too short. Other than that, she is a blast to drive

Wife - 2008 Honda CRV EX-L . Works well for our small family and has been a comfortable and reliable vehicle. Would buy another.

I got one of these on the way to replace my Alphard as the family hauler... I don't want the throttle to be stuck while driving that Toyota...

the all new Nissan Elgrand, this will be the next gen Nissan Quest when it comes to North America later this year with a slightly different front and rear end.

awesome captain seats if i prefer to be the passenger for long journeys

Very nice choice. I would have done the same. Unfortunately American cars are not yet up to par with most imports. As an American I wish, but maybe one day.

I test drove the Mazda3. Loved it! Loads of fun.
I decided against it ultimately because it was fwd (not awd), and seat comfort.

My DD is a suped up 01 Audi A6 4.2; 19" BBS CH w H&R spacers, H&R coilover kit, Milltek downpipes, cats, and mufflers, Hotchkis sways F&R, and GIAC software. Pretty nice car despite the age. Have had some wear and tear issues, but nothing I wouldn't expect from a 9yr old car.

Wife hauls our kid around in a 2008 Mercedes ML350. Very nice car with great ride, decent handling, good gas mileage and many nice bells and whistles.

Wife's DD and family hauler is a 2005 RX330 w/60K miles- definitely soulless, but absolutely trustworthy. Wife keeps bumping into stuff- trees, fire hydrants, posts, other cars, but it just keeps going. Nothing a little touch-up paint can't fix. I have a 2004 GS300 with/110K miles- a good combination of comfort, space, pace, looks, and reliability. Picked it up in '08 with 90K miles for $11K- still drives like new. Have test driven about 10 used ('06) Cayenne S's (Titanium Ed) to replace the GS300- love 'em, but just can't pull the trigger - too worried about big buck repairs

you should take a look at the next gen Nissan Quest thats coming out. it will be the exact same car as the Elgrand.

its especially great for golf trips, where I can stand 4 full size bags in the rear and still comfortably seat 4 people in the back plus a driver in front.

2007 C2S is the daily driver. Honda Element EX is for the beach, Sam's Club, hiking, etc. Fits my surfboards no problem and is easy to clean.

I don't have another daily driver. I own a 2006 Carrera. It's reasonably priced and not so rare or exotic that I can't drive it every day. Granted, I could drive something less expensive but I am so in love with this car. I don't have a 3 car garage and my wife own a Nissan Murano crossover so we have every occasion covered. I've never owned such a nice vehicle. Someday perhaps I'll own a turbo but the great thing about Porsche is they make supercars that are relatively trouble free such that they actually CAN be driven.
