Question DME Test Results

I just received a copy of the DME test on the 2006 C2s cabrio I will be picking up in the next few days. I was looking for some help interpreting the test. Results are below. Thanks much.

Here is a great thread and on page 2 it's explained https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...ver-rev-2.html

It looks like you are OK .
No level 4,5 or 6.

It sounds like the car was driven with an occasional sprint and ought not have any engine damage as a result.

Good news!!!

A level 3 or higher will result in engine damage! Wow, mine should be near death, I have more 5's then this car has 2's.

I don't think that a DME has a direct correlation to total failure.

Agreed....seen a few cars with some really high over-revs !
I have seen Ed drive and he is like a hurricane wind.......I have also seen his DME scan.......

PRICELESS.......

IMO,there is too much emphasis put on these numbers....but that is just my opinion!

The DME numbers above are fine....

If it were simple, Porsche would have created just 2 ranges:
-Alive
-Dead

My point, along with NorthVan's, is that there is more involved than good/ bad, black/ white, alive/dead. There is no one single data point that will ever tell you everything about how well a car was serviced or maintained.

Thanks for allthe feedback. I recognize that there is no one data point to ensure the car is in great shape. To me the dme test is just another way to eliminate a potentially questionable car from my search. Im just trying to check as many items as i can. the good news on this one is that it is also cpo with abot 3 yrs left.

Your car has been flashed.

Whether or not this is a factory update or an aftermarket flash is not clear.

The programming operations number is not 1. Factory updates or re-flashes will change this value. The only way that it can be reset to 1 is with PIWIS or another similar device which wipes the entire DME and installs the factory data (ie a cloned ECU.)

I'm sure Scott Slauson or other programming experts will be able to give you the specifics.

Nice catch Bobby, I don't think that is a huge issue as the car's warranty is near or completely expired.

So by flashed are you saying the programming of the ecu has been changed/upgraded by a third party? The car is cpo with 3yrs total remaining.
