New Street Shoes for the Carrera S

I picked up some Avant Garde M310 wheels for street use and have moved the Carrera Classic to track use with Toyo R888s. 19X8.5 and 19X11 with proper offsets and are hubcentric for the car. They fit beautiful and balanced out perfect. The are finished in Hypersilver and the fronts weigh 24lbs and the rears come in at 27lbs. Not bad for cast.

Another bonus I found out on the alignment rack. I was concerned about the limited camber in the front and when we looked at the car it already had over (-) 2 degrees in the front! So I looked under the car and low and behold, the previous owner installed GT3 LCAs!!! Sa-weet! While I was under there I installed the 997 GT3 brake ducts as well!!!

We set the car up at (-) 2.2 degrees camber front with .02 toe in and the rears at (-) 1.8 degrees camber and .14 toe in. The caster was mid 8s if I remember correctly. It drove fantastic!

Here are a few shots after I gave it a quick wash:

Looks great, I was thinking about getting the same wheels. What size tires are you running and the brand?

Very nice...amazing how big they look when the spokes go right to the outside edge!
And That color on your car IS perfect!

Congrats!

Thanks! Bridgstone RE960 Pole Positions in the stock sizes. I may go 305s next time.

Great wheels.

I recently did something similar. I mounted R888s to my factory Turbo rims and pulled my Carrera IV 18" winter set out of storage. With PS2 summer rubber, the 18" wheels drive really well on the street. The ride is smoother and the handling is more supple. With 17mm spacers fitted to the back they look solid on the car.

When are you going to the track? Sebring is my home track. Any questions let me know.

Wheels look much better than the Carrera Classic IMO. I'm guessing you recently bought this car? I think I saw it for sale in Autotrader some time back...welcome to the 'Launch Edition' club...

Colour comes out beautifully on those pictures. Love the gloss on that duco!

PCCB with those wheels look aggressive, I like how the spokes dive into the Porsche centre hub cap from the offset of those rear wheels.

By the way, Lovely Home! Nice greenery there!
