Dont put it on....Look at it as a goverment TAX! LOL
VC5200 is a fix it ticket in CA. You can put it on temporarily to get it signed off. I used 3M tape in the past. Go to a local PD that doesn't have red light camera. They won't care as much.
I just got mine signed off today. $25 fee with correction.
So tinted window in front doors is legal in CA? I have that and I always roll down the window when I get stopped.

I don't understand something --
I realize the front plate is ugly but if it's the law and you know that it's a ticket why not just put the plate on ?
I just don't get it . The idea of driving around with tint that's too dark and no plate is inviting the cops to write you a ticket and not only that every time you drive by a patrol car you have to be thinking "is the the cop who going to pull me over" .
It's just not worth it . The plate isn't that ugly and tint .. i think the car looks better without it. Plus no tickets and stress free driving sound a lot more enjoyable than worry and problems .

Don't have a front plate on my truck or the Porsche and not harassed in central CA. Police usually will not bother an otherwise law abiding citizen unless they got a problem with success.
Personally I don't like the looks of them or cleaning the bugs out.

I think the 997 front bumper was designed with European license plates in mind. Those are much shorter than U.S. version. U.S. license plates look like an oversized billboard on the Porsche bumper. I think the U.S. license plate on the rear bumper looks fine.

Just get the tow hook mount and get it signed off. Usually it's only $10 fee if you fix it and $100+ if you don't and just pay the fine.

A couple of tips:
1. When getting pulled over, roll down all the windows, both hands on the wheel and greet the officer with a, "Hello Officer".
2. If he comments on the front plate, tell him it's in the trunk (store it there) AND offer to show it to him.
I haven't driven with a front plate for decades in IL and CA.
It IS very ugly and the law is ridiculous. Some states don't require it.
An example, if you speed, and you know it's a ticket, why speed?
Around here, statistically that won't happen again for 100 years!

2) Speeding is not the topic and only serves as a straw man defection to the original topic.
