Horrible week.....good thing I have a 911
No, it was overnight to California in December, close to xmas, so shipping plus customs i guess
The guy is a respected member here so i don't want to start anything over $120. Hopefully he reads this and decides to pay me back the $120 that i now have to pay to these guys to protect my credit.
i don't think he's a bad guy, but i can't understand why he's ignoring my emails (he's still actively posting online)
The moral of my thread was more about the therapeutic properties of my 911
I'd be more than happy to call out my in-laws!!!!

After multiple emails from him saying it was resolved (and he told me to ignore the calls since it was resolved....which in hindsight,,,shouldn't have) it went to a collection agency...which this was the first time i've ever dealt with one....and for the record.....they are dou**bag's, but that's what they get paid to be!
Turn on Xbox,,,get message 'your profile has been move to another Xbox'. Then i looked online at my profile and it said i was in Nigeria....that was followed by a phone call to my house by some punk laughing saying 'have fun with you xbox live lately'
They recovered my account only to have it done a week later.

So however did this was able to reset my password, re-assign my gamertag to a new xbox, and to make matters worse, were able to see the ph number and name associated with my account (hence the phone call from the punk)
When they finally fixed it, the MS guy on the phone said he couldn't guarantee that this wouldn't happen again......AND IT DID... A WEEK LATER!!!!
I really don't care about the gamertag,, i'm more concerned about how easy it is to steal someones account and get access to their personal info!
..and yes I have a vested interest in the success of Xbox Live.
Make sure the Live ID you use for your account has a strong password. With 25 million subscribers, there are some weak passwords..

It does....my profession is network security,...a very long password containing numbers, symbols, letters and more.....
I can still log on to my Live ID with my original password, so that was never changed, the only problem is it's no longer associated with my Gamertag
I log into the Xbox Live site using my Live ID, but as indicated, when i do that now it asks me if i want to create a new gamertag
Which is what makes this extra frustrating.....there is nothing on my end i could have done, something is wonky on the MS side
btw,,,,so do i...I've been a member since 2002 (actually the day it came out), which might be why i've been a target, my gamertag is a 4 letter word......and no, not that one
If you want to save your credit, talk to the collection agency, and work a deal. I had an issue with Dell a number of years ago. They shipped me a computer for work, and I didn't hear anything about it for 3 years. I finally get a call from a collection agancy, and I am surprised, that this has gone so long with out hearing from them. I call Dell and talk to a guy in the accounting department (he was a total A hole), he tells me that he tried to call a person on and off for the 3 years with no call backs. I said the person you are looking for left the company left the company 2 weeks after the computer arrived, why didn't you ask for someone else? He responded, I don't know, so will you pay the bill. I asked, what about the guy at the collections aganecy that actually called the right guy, he said that it was too bad for him. I replied, I will call you back. I called the collections guy and told him what the Dell guy said, he told me that if I offered him 50 cents on the dollar, that he would accept that and close the file with out any issue with my companies credit history. I told him it was a done deal.
The icing on the cake, was when I called the guy at Dell and told him I settled it with the credit guy, and that I only paid 50 cents on the dollar....that was one pissed guy!
Sorry to hear about your bad day, and I agree that the Porsche will always put a smile on my face.

I totally agree about the Porsche. I drove my aunt's 997.2 C2S vert over spring break while she was in the hospital. No matter what happened....that car always put a smile on my face. The exhaust note, the lightning fast shifts from the PDK, it was great

higher the RPM, bigger the smile !
bro, i respect that u r not making a big deal out of the UPS/collection..
however, if he said it was resolved.. it should have been resolved. I personally do not take well to lies..

IMO, u give the guy few days to make it right.. if he still doesn't, u should call him out here in the forum.

So I'm always trying to explain my feelings for the 911 to the wife and she never gets it. You said it so simply and accurately that I had to read your post to her. Her only response: "I hope these guys still feel that strongly about their wives after that kinda miles too!".
