What does your car do the best?

I have complained before of the minor things I think Porsche should have included in a 100K+ car so its only fair that I comment on the things I love they included in a 100k+ car.

1.- On the top of my list is the obvious, performance. Wow, a punch in the face to every other car I have owned.

2.- In association with #1 performance, is the interaction with driver. Throttle response is great and if your listening, the car tells you whats going on.

3.- The transmission is perfect. 6 speed manual perfection with No notchy gears.

4.- Space and layout is also perfect. I'm a big guy and fit fine. Especially head room. Gages are also set perfect.

5.- Auto-sensing wipers work great. Seems foolish, but I have had this on other cars before and it did not always work well.

6.- A/C works great. I live in a tropical climate and I never thought the A/C would keep up. FYI - it does very well.

7.- Peddle spacing is also great. I have a 12.5(USA) shoe size and have no problems.

My size 14 (US) hoofs fit just fine in both a 996 with 6 spd manual and a 997.2 with PDK. Both were very comfortable cars

Sounds like most have the same overall +'s listed....

- Outsanding tactile feel between driver - car - road
- No issue as an every-day or long trip driver. (Heck I clocked a quick 4200miles between GA and Sedona AZ and it was perfect)
- Plenty of room
- Fuel economy. I mean, 24-25+ mpg cruising with a/c on....whats not to like!
- Reliable. There is no other car I have owned where I'd pick up the keys (in a hearbeat) and go anywhere w/o giving it a thought.
- Build quality

(Having said that, when I had the 996.2 6-Speed I'd say had they put in the factory short shifter, that would have made it perfect. After having it installed it made the driving experience even better)

And on a side-note.......my traded car is for-sale locally at Hennessy Porsche, pretty loaded up AND has the factory PSE along with short shifter.

My favorite part

is that the over all package just works. Its a super fun car that I can really enjoy with my two yr old son. He screams weeeeee anytime that I accelerate or go around a corner hard, that in its self was worth the price of admission

Interesting post. My sense is that of all of the aspects - the engine is fantastic but there are a few others that are the same or better, same for interior layout and quality, the brakes are wonderful but not necessarily unique. All features and behaviors that make the car so different and so enjoyable.
But the single best aspect is the steering feel. The sense of knowing what is happening from the road surface to the tire contact patch, to steering gear and suspension fittings and up to the steering wheel. It is uncanny, challenged only by a Boxster/Cayman and mimicked somewhat by an F430, though in fact a lesser experience.
The ability to softly grip the steering wheel (a technique whose return warrants practice much like that of a good golf grip) and feel every pebble, undulation and friction surface generates the largest percent of the grin that I find when I exit the car with after every drive.

I agree with all. And I had forgotten to mention the fuel economy. A definite plus in this category of car.

LOL on the cup holders. My 9 year old son is the one who found them first in my car.
