I am considering buying the NAV map update for my '06, 997:

At the bottom of the page there's the following disclaimer:
Special Note: The new navigation DVD(s) can only be used with software version "B" in PCM 2.1. If "A" software is present, your local dealer may need to update the PCM software (effects 2005-06 cars only).

The information page on my PCM says:
SW versions 3.3
Target: 05024ED1/4705

Questions:
1. How can I tell the PCM version?
2. How can I tell is the software version is "A" or "B"
3. Any general commentary on the 2010 map update is appreciated. From what I can tell, my current maps are 6+ years old (version 5004). Not expecting miracles, but the my current maps don't even show my home city..LOL.
