My trick -- Before washing the car when the top is dry, use a long strip of 'duct tape', lay it on one small secton of the top cloth, and then immediately peel it off.

When the duct tape is peeled off, it will also peel off the dust/dirt from the cloth.

Repeat above with new strip of duct tape on each small section of the cloth top. Yes, it will use quite some duct tape to complete the whole top, yet duct tape is cheap to buy. It will clean up the cloth top significantly.

Regards,

Kudos for that very nice gesture for a fellow 6speeder. Jurnes is giving me his kit for free. Thank you very much Jurnes. I have used the Griot's garage soft top protectant in the past and that is also very good.

I use 303 products (cleaner and protectant) available online or at West Marine. Simply the best. Recommended by Sunbrella (canvas mfgr used on boats) and others. Water repellant, resists UV and makes the top look like showroom new. Many years experience on my Boxster and Slantnose 935 cabrio.

slant83,
I'm with you 110% on the 303 products. My neighbor is in the high end boat business. He makes tops, seats & covers. He uses everything from canvas to leather & anything in between. He has sample boards that have been outside over 15 years. On the boards are samples of the products that he uses for seats or tops. The samples that have been treated with different protectants each month. No matter whether it's leather or simple canvas, the stuff that was protected by the 303 always looks good.

You are welcome. I never got to use the kit that I bought for our RS60 Spyder.

I will always miss our RS60 Spyder that died an untimely death on the track in June. It was the first Porsche I ever drove.

Ragg Top kit went out UPS this afternoon. I emailed you the tracking info.

harold_callahan is infamous around these parts
Make sure don't miss any RaggTopp overspray. Make sure you wipe it up as soon as it happens. I have been having a heck of a time trying to get it off my windows.

-Callahan-

TIP: use a lint brush to clean your top before you clean and apply RaggTopp.

Inspired by Jurnes' generosity, I also have a set of the Raggtopp cleaner and protectant which I used once on my cabriolet, so I'm sure there is plenty left of each. I traded in my C2S for a Panamera (which I'm still waiting for) so PM me if you want my Raggtopp products for free.

Before I spray the top protecting, RaggTop in my case, I use a plastic painters tarp you can get for a few bucks at any hardware store. I place it over the car with top open , make a few strategic cuts in the tarp and then close the top using painters tape to secure it in the back. I can cover everything but the top this way quickly and not have to worry about any overspray anywhere on the. When the top is dry, I remove the tarp and throw it away.

About 3 years ago my spray trigger on the bottle stopped working. I poured a small amount of the protectant on the top and spread it around by hand while wearing a nitrile glove. Now no more overspray to deal with.
