Impossible to go 0-60 in “3”

I have a C4S on sport mode with traction control off.

So I have been messing around with the daughters stop clock.

We have done several rolling starts (1 MPH – 3 MPH) to 60 and consistently hitting 60 in under 4 sec …. Sure 3.7, 3.9 …

Everything I have read states the C4S can only do 62 in 4.5

Is this because:

1. they are using 100 km or 62 mph and not 60 mph?

2. Are we so inaccurate with our hand held clock, thus we are losing 1/4th a second?

3. becuse of all "3"
A. we are rolling 3 mph
B. using 60 instead of 62
C. The hand held timer?

as far as i know, the C4s's do JUMP when asked

Getting the times that magazines get requires power shifting and slipping the hell out of the clutch.... and being an expert shoe... dont sweat it

I think h1sp is saying he's faster than the magazine's findings. That he is consistently getting under 4. I can tell you that using a hand stop watch will not yield accurate timings. I'm an audio recording engineer and use a hand operated timer while recording Voice Overs for timings. I'm pretty darn good at it and have been using the same timer for about 10 years and when all is said and done... checking the computer always yields a longer time. It's the anticipation that gets me.

Try having your passenger record a video of your speedometer, and then inspect the time(s) in a video player.

Wouldn't one of those "G-meters" yield accurate results?

I'm not willing to abuse my car to get those last few tenths in a street drag race, so if that is what it takes I'm out. However, it is rewarding to get everything just right for that perfect launch that doesn't bog the engine or send the tires up in smoke. I'm more about the seat-of-the-pants feel than the actual number register on a stop watch.

This was something I missed on my previous GT-R. In that car I could just switch the traction control and transmission to R mode and them floor it for consistent mid 3 second 0-60 sprints. It was great for showing off, but didn't require much effort on my part.

One you are useing rolling starts and only going to 60mph. Two The mags are Starting from 0 and going to 62. Three you will never be quick enough to start and stop the hand held stop watch. But very impressive times none the less.
