C2S and S4 or Turbo alone?

Ideally, I'd like to keep my S4 and get a GT3, but can't spend that kind if cash yet so trying to figure out if I should add a 997.1S or trade the S4 and get a 997.1 turbo.

I need a back seat in a pinch, so can't do the GT3 alone. Have already had a 997.1S, but do miss it. I also love the S4 with stronic, but could be convinced to love the turbo more.

What do you guys think? Any of this would require selling my s2000, but think I'm ready. Smart thing would be to wait until I can get the gt3, but where's the fun in that?! :-)

997S MK1 and GT3 would be an amazing combo.

997.1 Turbo alone is very nice, but with the RWD twins, you'll have more fun.

Are you looking at the MK1 or MK2 GT3? I like the MK2 GT3, it's my favorite.

I hate to sound so practical, since I'm really not the sort and I'm a GT3 lover as well, but to have two pricey cars that are quite similar seems a questionable move.
Perhaps the decision factor is whether or how much you will track the GT3 but surely if not then the turbo will provide plenty of joy . with looks, power and handling that provide a different but not necessarily lesser experience than the GT3.
I'd go with the Turbo and then in a year decide what floats your boat. It might be a soft top Porsche, a different brand of sports car, or a bike. Who knows? But it might end up to be more interesting than 'two of a kind'.

P.S. I have to admit that this is coming from someone who owns a 997S and a 930. At first glance it may seem to be very similar to what you are contemplating but they really are vastly different cars. At least that's my story and I'm sticking with it!

I have both a 2006 Carrera S and a 1987 Carrera Coupé. After really thinking about it for a long time, I think that the car I would upgrade would be the '87 for an '89 930 or 964 Turbo at some point in the future. The air cooled cars are so different to the mainstream Carreras that their driving experiences won't blur into each other. This is as objective an opinion as I can provide.

Tough call but I think the best combo would, in fact, be owning the Audi S4 and also having a GT3. My best of both worlds so to speak. So, I'd do what I needed to fiscally speaking (i.e., saving, investing, selling...) to make that happen. But, I hear ya when you ask where's the fun in doing that and waiting. So, if you don't want to wait until you can do both, I'd go for the Turbo. It has the seats for those in-a-pinch moments, AWD and lucious torque...

Thanks guys! I think medpilot understood my confusing first post. Not trying to have two porsches at once. Here are my scenarios:

Keep b8 s4 and s2000 and wait for gt3
Keep b8 s4 and sell s2k and get a c2s (again) or maybe c4s
Sell b8 s4 and sell s2k and get a turbo

Yeah, I'd wait (as much as I like getting new cars!) and keep the B8 S4 and add the GT3 when able. Both beautiful cars that compliment each other really well. I literally would have this combo if I could.

I could see selling all cars and getting the Turbo because the 911 Turbo is such a special car but I'd not go for the Audi and C4S plan. No need for two AWD's especially since part of Porsche's allure is it's steering feel with no driven front wheels. Sublime. I'd leave the AWD to Audi's quattro system and the two wheel fun to Porsche. My $.02.

I have a B8 S4 (Stronic) and a C2S. And feel it is a pretty good duo to own. As you know S4 can really get up and go.

It all depends on your need for utility. There are plenty of times when I need the S4's 4 doors and trunk. Not to mention a nice winter ride.

I like this advice guys. I went from leaning toward the sell all and get the turbo to the S4 + C2S. I sold my C2S two years ago and I can't believe how prices have held. Jeez. I think I could get more for my 997S than what I sold it for with 35k miles!!! Oh well, part of the car life, I guess. Looks like I'll be shelling out at least 52-55k for a decent C2S....
