Anyone have any mechanical malfunctions with the cup holders? The trim piece on mine that flips down will not snap back into place sometimes. One time it took like 50 tries before it clicked!!
Even with the bottle of water with the lid on, I'm always wondering what kind of G force it will take to send the water bottle flying when I'm going full tilt on an off ramp! Man, the bottle only sits in the thing about an inch and a half.
oh, and my new ones just got replaces also after some little piece of plastic broke off and i had to fix it with a tie wrap on a road trip
It doesn't take too much force to make a soda go flying. I was having a bit of trouble getting over a speed-bump in my girlfriends complex. I got a bit frustrated after getting over the bump... and NAILED the gas. I've never seen a can of coke fly out of a cup holder so fast! Spilled over her & her seat... I felt like a jack-***. hehe But now I know... no more crazy driving with the cup holders occupied.
i realize that porsche engineers had a lot to consider when designing and re-designing this wonderful 997 s that i drive today, but does it bother anyone else that the cupholders are very small. It is especially important for a 6 speed transmission....both hands are kinda occupied.
nope!
since this thread started I have started to pay attention
to my silly cup holders and it turns out for my purposes they are pretty good. my only slight complaint is that when my cups bleed they drip onto my gear lever, but other than that no problems
+1 on the adjustable part of things.
The first time my wife rode in the car with me and she was playing around with the knick knacks, she popped out the cupholders and said the same thing as the OP about how small they were. When I told her to extend out the little arms on the ratchets, she said, oh, ok, that's better.
