I could tell the difference, not sure about others. I guess it depends on who's looking and how much they care.
I think if you buy the 4 for its "hips" then it's a personal thing, maybe it doesn't matter so much who notices it. If you buy a 2 and wanted the 4's "hips," it'll probably be more satisfying to trade in on a 4.
