Darren's right either Bert Smith or Reeves should have given you a car to drive... I never even bought a car at Reeves and they give me a loaner for routine service since I always service there.

I understand that does not change your situation and point of no tire locally, but should have made it a little easier.

Did you ask them to take one off a car in the showroom? I know both dealers had cars a week ago. That would have been good service...

It wouldn't have been a whole lot less given the overnight charges. It's just ridiculous to have to have the car towed, be without it for who knows how long (if it happened on a Friday afternoon the tire wouldn't even ship until Monday), and then pay full retail plus expedited overnight fees (or be without it longer) for a fricken flat tire! If he'd have had a spare, he'd have been on his way in less than a 1/2 hour and could have taken care of the replacement tire at his convenience and at considerably less expense (time and money). Great idea to ditch the spare Porsche! Your customers are really enjoying that decision.
What's even more unfortunate is that he was told by Tire Kingdom the tire is on national backorder.

No it's not - it never has been.

It's also hard to believe that 2 Porsche dealerships didn't have the tire in stock. Given the number of 265 tires they put on 911's, they should ALWAYS keep at least one each of the OE tires around, Jeez, there's only 4 different ones to keep on hand.

You were definitey the victim of misinformation, and ill-prepared dealerships. You could always keep a bottle of Fix-A-Flat in the car just in case. It usually makes a mess, but it sure beats a flat-bed.......

fix a flat doesn't work too good on a blow out such as his or when there is a large hole in the sidewall as happened with me.
