Dinosaur orders next Porsche

Had a German visitor at my company who is a car nut. He tells me that Europeans are no longer ordering cars with sticks - virtually all new Porsches in Germany are PDK.

Nonetheless - ordered my next Carrera

'11 C2S
basalt/natural brown leather
short shifter (stick, hell yeah!)
SPASM
sport exhaust
sport chrono
Carrera sport wheels
adaptive seats
other stuff (bose etc)

November delivery!!

I would guess most of those Germans enjoy those cars on an autobahn and use them as DD cars - naturally PDK is a better choice.

I keep having friends tell me that "automatics suck". While this may be true for most of them, the truth is that they are much easier to DD with. I mean, who would want to be stuck in traffic with a stick? Even though I wouildn't want that, I'm sure as heck still going to buy MT's

Who would want to be stuck in traffic, period? It's not like having an automatic would make being stuck in traffic not suck. Maybe it would suck worse, but it's a marginal argument. Once something sucks, it sucks...IMO.

Really? I've heard that R-tronic is terrible! Although I haven't tried it first hand......PDK and DCT are probably my favorite from what I've driven.

Well that's true, but I was thinking more in the sense of it's tiring to keep using the clutch.....but that may just be me :P

Well, adaptive seats are sport seats, but if you mean the sport bucket seats then I would have to upgrade by physique and downgrade my weight

I prefer the Violentless of the Latest Generation Single Clutch Auto Box over the Double Clutch Aut Box, no feedback... But DC is the Future. Now the Earlier Single Clutch Trans like F-360 F1 or Aston Martin Vanquish were Terrible, they were the reason why i was a Non-Beliver, and few other examples

Damn you! I ordered 2 weeks ago and I'm lucky if mine will arrive in 2010. My dealer was all out of earlier allocations.

Good looking build. You will be very happy with it but should consider the PDK.
