Proper launch procedure

Assuming the car does not have launch control or you simply don't want to use it what is the proper procedure for a fast takeoff. I was always told A/C off, left foot on brake, a little throttle (not powerbraking mind you but a little throttle takeup without any wheel spin), then drop the left foot and floor the accelerator with the right foot keeping it high or middle of the pedal.

Proper procedure?

Don't Launch, it will kill your clutch and it will likely have a lot of back end hoping.
