New Interior Shot! 2012 911
I think that look is fine for the Cayenne or Panamera, but I don't think it works at all for a driver oriented sports car with a smaller cabin. This doesn't make sense. Other manufacturers have gone to a cleaner simpler interior... this goes the wrong way. Not feeling it. I've really liked the exterior shots of the 991 that I've seen.
I don't know about this. It is making me kind of nervous. I mean one of the things i love about the 911 is the current interior. This seems distracting and frankly looks annoying.
The button parking brake is going to be a disaster. My mom has one in her z435i and its pretty bad. Sometimes it doesn't release right away.
Porsche I don't like this!!

looks to much like a spaceship not a sports car. To much going in there. Sports cars are supposed to be simple with taste. Not my cup of tea, however change is always welcome. As everyone else said," same interior a panamera and cayenne". I like it in the Cayenne but not the 911.
I do not like it either for a 911. Maybe they will offer a variation, 911 C2 "CI". That is with all of the modern technology, but with a Classic Interior ("CI"). That could then give them a few more variations (911C2S CI, 911 C4S CI ...) - up to the high 20 range, instead of the current 22-ish.
I think this is a great step forward for the 911. It looks like it's more of a '****pit' feel, with all of the controls in very easy-to-reach locations. In fact, the sloping center console seems to integrate with the dash even cleaner than with the Panamera.
Having gone from a 997.2 C2S to a P2S, I can tell you that the Panamera is very easy to negotiate in terms of ergonomics and location of the buttons. In fact, all of the 'driving' buttons are located on the left side of the shifter, and the buttons on the right are typically more for accessories (rear wing, sun shades, sports exhaust, etc).
I understand the complaints about the touch screen being a little low, but I definitely prefer the screen in a fixed position on the dash instead of a pop-up solution like other manufacturers build. Whether in the 997 or Panamera, the screen is always readable, without any issues of glare.
The one thing I'm interested in is personalization options. In current gen 997/986, the center console can be swapped for various options (painted, CF, etc), whereas it appears the center console here will be closer to the Panamera where small sections of trim can be swapped out. That might make it easier/less expensive to swap these pieces, but probably without as much of a visual impact.

I don't think it's a question of whether the Panamera console is good/bad or if it works/doesn't work. It's a question of should it be in the 911. The 911 has always been a simple car, now it's moving toward GT...and this is undesirable for people who like the tradition of the 911. Seems Porsche didn't learn their lesson when they strayed from the formula with the 996. They bring in the 993 guys, design the 997, have huge success, then move away from it again. Good work. Not.

Starting to look a tad Audi-ish in the Aircon area, I hope VW dont screw Porsche up too much.
Have to see it in the flesh, if it is anything like the Panamera should be a good thing.
