New Cold Air Intake Kit for 997.2 Carrera
New Cold Air Intake Kit for 997.2 Carrera
Agency Power has just released 2 cold air intake kits for the Porsche 997.2 Carrera DFI car. The cold air intake is available as a budget intake kit or with a fully enclosed carbon fiber airbox. The intake features a CNC machined MAF sensor mount, 6061 aluminum tubing that is TIG welded, and custom color powdercoating. All Agency Power intakes use a name you can trust in air filtration, K&N. The intake Y-Pipe also features a unique "deflector" inside where the Y merges to promote proper air flow to the throttlebody without turbulence. This intake added 14rwhp and 9ft/lbs of torque to our 2009 PDK Carrera test car on our Mustang dyno. Check out more info on these 2 Porsche 997 Cold Air Intakes Here.

Fabspeed has a great product. If a customer wants Fabspeed, we carry that as well. Similar in design as really that is the only way to get 2 filters under the air ducts. Its hard to compare dyno results as they use a dynojet and have 93oct with a cooler ambient. We are running a Mustang Dyno, 91oct, and its hot! But the rwhp gains are great.
Now in terms of our upgraded model with the carbon box, this intake is a true cold air intake that seals off the intake from the engine bay. When the decklid is closed, those snorkels go directly on to the filters for a true ram air effect without pulling any hot engine air in. Unlike a turbo car with intercoolers, a NA car really cannot afford to have hot air. Where a front engine car intake usually sits in the engine bay with the hood closed, the Porsche is feeding it a good amount of air. Still having the enclosed box helps to reduce any possibility of heat soak in daily driving or track conditions. The Agency Power product was designed using aluminum which does not conduct heat as bad as stainless steel. A full carbon tube would put the price point way to high. Overall its just another option available and we are really happy with the product and price point.

How many miles have you put on the filters. Since they are exposed more, depending on where you drive they can get really dirty. Them being dirty is a good thing too showing you how much of the particles it is stopping and not letting into your engine. You can always clean the filters with a K&N Recharger Kit. Your MAF would not be bad unless you have a CEL on. If you do have a CEL, scan the car to confirm it is MAF. MAFs can be cleaned too.
I would love for you to run our AP with carbon box kit. But instead of getting you to spend money, save yourself some and check the above. I feel the price point is good for what you are looking for and the end result you will be happy with. I do have a discount coupon code if you are interested. Just PM me.

14k, I appreciate the suggestion and advise. Will go to Autozone tonight and run the K&N Recharger Kit, I was told not to do so because clean cones cause CEL. Once first purchased I had a CEL but then I was told it would go away, it never did until 6,000 miles and a battery reset, so i can't say its made for non-S models.

You can see from the picture it is a full enclosed system with the carbon part attaching to the aluminum tray. We sell it with and without the carbon cover.

Hello,
Me and my buddy bought 3 of these from Vivid. We both have 2010 C2S and both have a CEL now. Car idles goofy for first few minutes but then runs ok. We also installed this on our friend 2009 c4s and he has the same issue. All cars were taken to an indy shop and all cars are getting code 1094. Please help.
Sincerely,
Alex

I will try to call Monday, but no other mods on the car. MAF was removed from the OEM piece and installed on the Fabspeed without any major headache. When I put the original CAI back, no check engine light.
for a 997.2
I would like to spring for a complete custom intake. But I looked over the whole stock intake and its not bad. It gets air from the 2 inlets on the deck lid, routes it into the air box. Its all shielded and does not allow contamination from engine bay. And the box itself doesnt have other restrictions. So I opted to put in BMC free flow filters in, that are the only good aftermarket ones made for the 997.2 box. And I feel it gives a very good , cheap alternative.

Is it a Fabspeed or Agency Power? Different products.
